Jin rocked his chair back and forth with growing unease inside himself. He didn't feel quite right. He felt bad aura surrounding him. He was sure it was because of the things Namjoon had told him.
All these years, Jin thought his father had abandoned him. He had thought that his father had cursed him, bound him, to the shop and left him to die. He never realized that he harbored a slight hatred towards his father. But now that he knew the real intentions behind his father's actions, he felt relief, he let go of the anger and resentment he felt towards his father.
He had only tried to save Jin.
But now, his father was dead - killed by his witch of a mother.
He heard a knock on the door and slowly got up from the wooden chair. He opened the door to find a grinning Taehyung.
"You look very happy, Taehyung," Jin said to the younger.
"Yeah," Taehyung quickly covered up his smile with a blank face, "Sorry if I took too much time."
"No, that's fine. It was very thoughtful of you to give me some time to think and process everything."
"So are you alright, now?"
Jin didn't want to answer that. He was still adversely affected by the event that took place that day and it was not very easy for him to recover from the news he had received.
He tried to change the subject, "Tae! Quick, come inside! It's cold out today."
"Ah yeah, it's cold out today," Taehyung repeated, caught off guard by the nickname.
Taehyung hugged his sides as a cold breeze hit his body and he stepped inside, hastily closing the door behind him.
Jin couldn't stop himself from giggling softly at Tae's actions. The way he pouted his lips due to the cold, his bread cheeks in display, his eyes so soft in the twilight brought a smile to Jin's lips.
"So, why are you so happy?" Jin noticed a hint of smile on his lips. Ever since he met the younger, Jin could read him very well. And, now, judging by the small smile, bright eyes and playful gait, he could tell that something good had happened to Tae.
"Well, I met Jungkook," Tae said, walking into the shop.
"Oh."
Jin hadn't expect that. It was unlikely that Taehyung would have gone to met Jungkook on his own accord. The matter of his family wss still a painful subject for Tae. Something else was the case.
"Tell me more about it while I make tea for you. You must be cold-"
"No, no, Jin. I'm fine you don't need to-"
"Well I will make it, whether you like it or not. Besides, boiling water and adding tea leaves to it isn't much work anyway," Jin chuckled, walking towards the kitchen and started picking up utensils to prepare the tea.
Taehyung sat down comfortably on a chair while looking towards Jin.
"So Tae, tell me about it."
"Ah," Taehyung started, flustered by the sweet name Jin had called him by, "Well, I met-"
A loud bang caused Taehyung to fall off his chair in shock. He quickly stood up and rushed to the front of the store.
There was another loud thud as the wooden door gave way and fell to the ground. Taehyung stood dumbfounded, staring at the half burnt door. A bright purple mist swirled around the storefront. Jin hurried over from the kitchen to find Taehyung standing still, his mouth agape, cocooned by the mist. Jin shook Taehyung to snap him out of his stupor and pulled him away from the mist. As they watched a mysterious hooded figure emerged from the cloudy mist, that shone like star dust in the impending darkness.
No. This can't be possible, thought Jin.
The figure pulled back it's hood to reveal a pale face with treacherous eyes, glinting scarlet. She smirked as she approached Jin and stroked her thumb across his jaw.
"Well, well, son," she snarled, "Look who's here!"
It's really her, Jin gulped, My mother.
Taehyung put two and two together and immediately pushed the woman's hand away from Jin.
"Who do you think you are to barge into our house like this?" Taehyung growled.
The women, who seemed the least bothered by his actions, let out a sly smile, "And what brought you into this house? If I remember correctly, money, wasn't it?"
Taehyung gritted his teeth. He knew that the women was telling the truth but it was still offensive. He felt a wrist wrap around his arm as he was pushed back to the elder.
"You have no right to talk to him that way," Jin said, "You aren't my mother anymore. Why are you even here? How did you find out-"
"I am a witch, you know," she smirked, "I have powers beyond your wildest imagination.Your father prevented me from using them by casting that silly old magic on you, but fear not, I have found you now and you will face the same fate as him and maybe I'll be kind enough to spare your partner," the witch smiled - taunting Jin.
Jin hated his mother even more, he loathed everything about the woman. He wouldn't even think of that witch as his mother. She had killed his father and now it seemed like she had come back to kill him and Taehyung. He couldn't take all of this. He was fuming with anger.
"Don't you dare step near us," hissed Jin, "But even if you do, it won't matter. That 'silly old magic' still protects me, only in a different form. You could have found me, but you can't touch me."
A smug smile decorated Jin's face. She couldn't hurt them. She could never hurt them.
"Well, let me see," the witch mused, "I am sure there is a way to hurt you; a way to break the magic."
The pair knitted their brows in confusion.
What was she talking about?
"You think you're so strong and so very safe," she continued, "I will make you come to me."
She snapped her fingers and Jin's eyes rolled back into his head, his body collapsing onto the floor. When he came to, he found Taehyung shaking him painfully, eyes wide in panic.
"W-What happened?" Jin asked, sitting up slowly, rubbing the back of his head.
"Our Soul - she took it."
