Taehyung opened his eyes and immediately doubled over in pain - groaning and clutching his chest.

The corners of his eyes filled with tears, threatening to spill over. His chest felt like someone had cut it open in the middle and was stabbing his heart with a hot knife. Taehyung didn't know if he could take it any longer.

Then, it was over. It wasn't a gradual descent of pain, but it just stopped - all at once.

However, there was a still a lingering sensation in his heart. Taehyung couldn't describe it - but it felt like he had suddenly been burdened. He was carrying something else in his chest - a responsibility, a bond.

But the worry and the resentment, he had been carrying around the past for few months, due to his mother's illness had diminished considerably to a point that it almost wasn't there anymore.

Taehyung sat up and scanned his surroundings. He was still in the shop and the owner of said  shop was curled up in a foetal position next to him. His brown bangs were disheveled; his face now pale. His plump lips were slightly apart, drawing in breath.

Suddenly, Jin bolted upright, panting. He swiped his hand across forehead, wiping off the sweat that had gathered there. He looked panicked - the colour that had returned to his face, painted his cheeks light pink. His dark eyes flitted around his shop and finally settled on Taehyung's face. His stared at him for a few seconds and then nodded his head slightly - affirming something.

"You okay?" Taehyung asked Jin wondering if he had undergone the same pain as he had.
He was worried about the elder. He felt a connection to him - a bond that wasn't there before. Taehyung suspected it was the spell. It had caused all this change.

Jin shook his head - clearing his thoughts.

"I'm fine."

He still looked shaken up. Jin got up and started pacing. He ran a hand through his messy hair.

"You really don't look okay," Taehyung said.

Jin tried to respond with a smile but he was really weak to even do that simple task. He caught hold of a desk nearby to keep his balance so that if he collapses, he would still have some support.

"Go to your mom first, she'll be waiting for you. I'll be fine," Jin said, in a weak voice .

I'll be fine

The words ringed in Taehyung's head .

The picture of his mother telling him that she would be fine even though she was suffering , was branded deep into his memory , the only thought that got him till here.

But something in Taehyung's heart told him that he shouldn't leave Jin in this shop. He was worried because Jin looked like he would pass out any second.

"Jin, I will visit her but you must come with me. I really want you to get out of this shop. I'm worried that if something happens, nobody will be able to hear you.

Jin's doe eyes formed a crescent shape, his cheeks a bright pink. His plump lips curved up as tears formed at the corner of his eyes.

"Th- thankyou," he stuttered with his lips quivering. His mouth was open like he wanted to say more but then he felt long fingers wrapping around his. He looked into Taehyung's eyes. Jin could sense a lingering sadness in them.

"Let's get going then."

.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.

Jin stepped out of the old shop. For the first time in 11 years, he saw the outside world instead of the dusty brown walls of the shop.
