She became stronger when she left me
Wiser and better
Because i was holding her down
I kept her grounded
Because i know when she floats i wont be able to catch up
She became happier when she left me
Her smiles became wider
Her laugh became louder
And on top of that she glowed
No she didn't hide behind my shadow
She said she had her own choice
To stay by my side and love me till the end
But i wasn't better then, i was becoming worse
Slipping through bad habits
Calling her out on her shortcomings
I've always understood why she left
I never blamed her until the end
When she said goodbye
When she broke her promises
When she fell for someone else
If i kept myself sane she would have stayed
If i worked on my apologies she wouldn't have broken her promises
If i took good care of her she wouldn't have fallen for someone else
I am happy for her honestly
Every step she takes im silently cheering for her
She will always have a special place on my heart
But now im healing, im becoming better than before
I may not be the one for her but i hope she'll find someone who'll love her more than i did.
