When they say that the world is too smalland that we're all only as far apart as six degrees of separation
I hope they consider everyone else in this place
but us (statistics are easy to manipulate,
I remember you saying that)
because we live a few hundred metres away
yet in this jungle of a city
the odds of me bumping into you accidentally
or even on purpose are slim to none
when i meet someone that is one degree
of separation away from you
I dare not ask about the boy who broke my heart
ripped it out and tore it apart
half knowledge is dangerous, and
sometimes, rather blindsiding
another one of your quotes,
can you blame me?
your words have carved a space in my ribcage,
the small fist sized space where a vital organ stays frozen
how foolish of people to make a home of those who never wanted to stay
we can speak in tongues and poorly written verses
about that what we do not comprehend
truth is that i havent seen you in a year and yet
somehow when i walk past your house
somehow when i enter that small cafe
somehow when i visit the museum
my eyes will always look for you.
six degrees of separation, this cannot be true
when i am still holding on to the mere memory of you
