Ellie's P.O.V

My phone screamed at me the next morning, telling me it was time to get up. So I did just that and got dressed in my uniform, standing in front of the mirror to make sure everything was straight and neat.
Before I left my room there was a weird tapping sound on my window. I thought it was strange because nothing was around my window that can tap on it.

Walking over to it I pulled my curtains to the sides and slid open my window to see Mason leaning out of his with a ruler in his hand, giving him the ability to knock on my window without having to lean out too far. He was dressed his own school uniform and a wide grin across his mouth when I opened my window.

"Good morning princess." He says as he leaned back into his room.

Shyly I tucked my hair behind my ear, "Good morning."

He stood there for a few moments, just gazing at me, "I wanted to see you before I left."

"Well, now you do."

"Text me when you get to school?" He asked, slowly sliding his window closed as he waited for my answer.

"Sure. Have a good day at school."

"You too."

The both of us closed our windows then I left my apartment. As I walked my path to school I got this weird feeling that something was wrong but when I looked around me, there was nothing out of the ordinary. I hurried to school, feeling okay again when I got within the walls. I thought about how weird my walk was as I went to the classroom but tried not to think too much about it. Before class started I chatted with Sophia to get my mind off of what happened and also remembered to text Mason that I was at school. Just as I texted him I got a message from someone else.

Jaxson: Hey, they are doing some light remodeling at the coffee shop so we don't have to work today

Me: Aw man, I was looking forward to you teasing me non stop! Sarcasm...

Jaxson: 😜 You know you love it

Me: SARCASM

Jaxson: YOU CANNOT DENY IT

Me: Go to class already

Jaxson: I should say the same for you squirt

When the bell ran I put my phone away to avoid getting into trouble. By the end of the school day since I didn't have to go to work I decided to go walk around the park before going home. I would do anything to waste time just so I didn't have to run into Leah at home.

Usually when I walk around the park it's very refreshing, seeing all the lush plant life around and people enjoying themselves on a beautiful day like this. Today though it just felt creepy, like I felt eyes burning into my back every step I took. But every time I looked around to find the reason why I was feeling like this everyone was minding their own business.

My phone buzzing with a new text message was a good distraction from my slowly rising anxiety.

Mason😙: Hey, you're at work today right?

Me: No, the coffee shop is closed today

Mason😙: That explains it. I just went by there to surprise you but it was closed

Me: Yeah, there is some light remodeling going on.

Mason😙: So where did you go?

Me: Just hanging out at the park to kill some time

Mason😙: I'll met you there in a few minutes
