As she looked through it she breathed in a sharp breath as she read over her own words, taking in her joy she had felt that day of going into town. She had been so hopeful, overjoyed at the prospect of getting some normalcy back into her life. If only she had known it would take away everything she had counted as normal in her past.

Rayna sat there for a few minutes, taking in every last word. Letting the emotions sink in, just letting herself feel.

Finally, she picked up the pen next to the journal, dipped it in the ink, and began to write once more.

Dear Theo...

Part 1

The warm summer breeze quickly turned into a fall chill leading to the bitter winter air.

Over the summer, Catherina and Rayna learned a new trick of creating glass with the sand on the beach. With that, they would fill them with water and bring them to the people. Once a week they would travel that way to collect sand and bring it home to create the glass. Jewel joined them on occasion too, wanting to see the sea. She had never seen such a large amount of water before.

The days were for just the girls, a beautiful day to remember together. It gave them time to relax and just be. Now during the cold November days, it wasn't as enjoyable feeling the wiping of the wind sting the eyes. At the moment, they were collecting more sand to create glass for the people. There was a large storm coming and they evacuated the people in the villages right near the Perpetua Sea, and relocated them to Terra.

Rayna and Catherina just came back from a cold journey, the wagon dragging slowly behind them under the weight of the sand. This was their third trip already going for sand; already two wagons were filled with jars. The townspeople had loaned them the extra wagons to transport everything. All in all, they would have around five wagons transporting everything to the people. They even lent them a few of their horses to pull the wagons. Rayna snuggled into the fur scarf that lay around her neck and tugged her hat further on her head.

"Are you sure you want to do that water tonight, my sweet? You are going to get sick." Catherina looked up at the sky, the storm clouds coming in. It was going to be a cold winter indeed.

Rayna just shook her head. "You know I need to get this done before you all go out in the night tomorrow. I have to. The people are expecting it especially with such a big storm coming. Besides I have other things that need attention tomorrow as well." Rayna glared up at the sky. She had been trying to keep the storm at bay, but it just kept coming back. No matter how hard she tried, it always came back.

The townspeople were given the proper warnings of the storm, and Revon and Andre even went around town last weekend to help the people board up their windows. The creatures of the forest were being evacuated from the south end of the forest near the Perpetua Sea.

Now the witches were trying to help the village have the proper preserves for the people. They would be inside their homes for the week. Catherina, Jewel, and Rayna would go to the cliffs to try and cast a spell that would stop the storm, or at least slow it a little. They hoped between both Rayna and Catherina's gifts in witchcraft, it would help to manipulate the weather. Jewel still was searching for her specialty as a witch, but Rayna felt she's a Solum witch since she is so one with the earth. It is up in the air for now.

There was a thin frost on the ground, so it made it easier for Rayna to pull the water out from the ground. She had already completed the glasses with Catherina's help in the middle of the afternoon. They mimicked the style of a tall apothecary jar, and are about half Jewel's height but more narrow in width. About a hundred fit into each wagon. They will be heavy to lift once the water was filled in them, and they would need two horses to a wagon. Luckily the Bellators agreed to help them move the jars at night into the homes. Jewel looked out the window and decided to come out and help with the water once she heard Rayna start coughing.
