Chapter 17

It was already night and Mark was drunk out of his mind and he was alone. He drove his car in his drunken state to the person he needed the most right now. A person who understood and knew him more than he knew himself. It has been so long since he last met her.

As soon as he reached her house, he got out of his car and stumbled to her door and rang the doorbell harshly.

"Coming!!!" He heard from inside and sighed.

He was tired, his eyes were red and his face was tear stained. Soon the door opened and the person on the other side was surprised to see Mark.

"Mark?" She whispered.

She frowned looking at his state, but before she could ask him anything, Mark hugged her tightly.

"Fei!~" he cried into her shoulder. She got worried. She closed the door after pulling him inside. She never saw him crying this badly before. She rubbed his back gently.

"W-W-Why does t-this always happen to me!~ W-Why does no one l-love me?! A-Am I that bad?!" He cried.

"M-Mark, why are you crying? What happened?" She asked him still hugging him. He didn't reply. She sighed and broke the hug and made him sit on the couch and kneeled down in front of him and cupped his cheeks.

"Mark, please stop crying and tell me what happened" she said gently while wiping his non stop tears.

"Rosé~" he cried again. She furrowed her eyebrows.

"Rosé? What happened to her? Is she okay? Is she hurt?" Fei asked worriedly. He nodded. She was confused.

"Then what's the matter?" She asked.

He broke down again. Now she was so much worried. She never saw Mark this vulnerable.

"Mark, I can't help you if you don't tell me what the matter is" she said gently.

"R-Rosé wants d-divorce" he said. She was shocked!

"What!"

"She doesn't l-love me! She h-hates me Fei! She wants d-divorce from me! She said that I was just like him! She wants me out of her life f-forever!" He cried.

She was heartbroken seeing him in that state.

"Mark-"

"I don't know what to do Fei! I love her so much! I can't live without her! I drank alcohol to numb the pain, but I can't even get drunk! It hurts Fei! It hurts so much!" He cried. Tears slipped from Fei's eyes.

"Why doesn't she love me! Am I that horrible!? I've always wanted her to be happy, I always wanted to protect her! I sacrificed my happiness just so that she could be happy! But that was the most stupidest decision I've ever taken in my life! That bastard hurt her! What do I do Fei?! Please help me! It hurts so much! I can't bear this pain!" He cried.

She wiped her own tears and took a deep breath. She cupped his cheeks and wiped his tears.

"Shh~ You are perfect Mark! You are not like him at all! She is blind to not see your love for her. You are the man a girl would want as her life partner, a true prince charming!" She said gently.

"I don't want to be anyone's prince charming. I only want Rosé" he whimpered. She hugged him while still on her knees and caressed his back.

"Shh! Calm down! Get some rest and we will talk about this tomorrow morning okay?" She said.

"No Fei, I've already decided. I'll give her what she wants. I'll divorce her if that's what makes her happy" he said breaking the hug.

"Mark are you sure?" She asked concerned. He nodded giving her a small smile.

"Then what about you? Will you be happy?" She asked. He smiled bitterly.

"I'll be happy as long as she is happy" he said.

"She is very lucky to have you as her life partner, too bad she doesn't realise that" she frowned.

"But she doesn't agree with that" he smiled sadly.

"Mark-"

"I have to go, Rosé must be alone" he said and stood up making her stand up along with him. She sighed. She knew she couldn't change his decision so she didn't argue with him.

"Okay fine, I'll drive you back home" she said.

"No, I'll go on my own" he said.

"What! No! You're drunk Mark! You can't drive in this state!" She argued.

"Oh come on Fei! I'm not even that drunk. And also, I drove here on my own and I reached safely didn't I?" He said smiling.

"Are you sure?" She asked worried.

"Stop worrying so much Fei! I'll be okay. I'll text you when I reach home okay?" He asked. She sighed and nodded.

"Now smile, I don't like it when you frown" he said and she smiled. He pulled her into a hug.

"Thank you for being there for me always" he said tightening his arms around her.

"Anytime" she mumbled.

He broke the hug and walked towards the door with her following behind him. He turned towards her and kissed her forehead. She smiled and kissed his cheek.

"I love you" He said.

"I love you too" she replied.

He smiled and walked out of her house towards his car. He started his car and looked out his window and smiled and waved at Fei. She waved back.

He reversed the car and got onto the road. He was still feeling a bit dizzy because of the alcohol but he ignored it. He checked the time and it was already past eleven.

Shit! She must be alone!

He thought and pushed on the accelerator and drove as fast as he could. After driving some distance he suddenly felt his eyes blur. He couldn't see properly and he was feeling dizzy. Just then he saw a truck coming towards him from his right side. Before he could do anything, the truck hit his car and the car rose into the air, flipped and fell upside down on the road.

Mark felt pain everywhere. He felt liquid flowing from his head. He touched it with his hand and looked at it. It was blood. His consciousness was slipping. He heard faint sirens. Rosé's name slipped from his mouth before darkness consumed him....
