Sonic's POV

~6 weeks later~

I woke up and found that Shadow wasn't there. I frowned a little disappointed and turned the TV on suddenly being bored. I heard Shadow come down the stairs and looked at him. "Hey, Shads!"

He smiled and walked over to me. "Hey, Sonic. How's your foot doing?"

"It's good. Feels like it's supposed to now," I said moving it.

He smiled more and sat down next to me. I hugged him which surprised him. "Thanks for watching me, Shads!"

He hugged me back. "It wasn't ab problem, Sonic," he said and pulled away.

"Was I a burden to you?" I asked thinking I was.

"No. Why would you think that?" He asked confused.

"I just figured since it happened so suddenly," I looked down a little bit.

"Well I was going to stay with you until I knew you were better. I couldn't have just left you there on your own. That's cruel of me."

I was surprised his words. I didn't know what to say. "Do you really mean that?"

"Yes I do. I couldn't have you struggling on your own to find help."

I hugged him tightly after that. "Thanks again, Shads!"

He huged me back lovingly. "You're welcome."

Maybe he really does like me...

I broke the hug and and looked at him. "Hey. Is it alright if I invite some people over?"

"I don't care. Plus they need to see you anyway."

"Thanks, Shads!" I pulled my phone out.

"As long as they dont mess anything up," he said jokingly.

I smiled somewhat nervously and chuckled a little.

~10 mins later~

I hung up and looked at Shadow who was laying lazily on the couch. "They're on their way."

He yawned obviously bored and nodded. "You want to do anything until they come?"

"Yeah, be better than sitting around."

He thought and got an idea. "Wanna play Pokemon?"

"Sure," I said and yawned a little.

~20 mins later~

Me and Shadow were almost passed out. I mumbled something I wasn't sure was even a word. We both closed our eyes too tired for anything else. There was a knock on the door. I grumbled and got comfy where I was. I looked tiredly at Shadow and told him to get it.

He sat up. "Why me?"

"I'm comfy and don't feel like it. Plus it's your house, not mine," I said grinning slightly.

He sighed and got up. He stretched and looked at me and shook his head at my laziness. He walked over to the door yawning and opened it still half asleep.

"Sonic!" Amy yelled looking for me. Shadow was immediatley awake and clutched his head.

I sat up and looked at the door half asleep. I yawned heavily and stretched. "Ames?"

"Oh, Soniku!" Amy cried and burst through the door.

"A-amy-" I stuttered and she bear hugged me. Shadow looked at us a little upset for some reason while Tails and Knuckles walked passed him. "C-can't breath!" I breathed heavily as dhe let me go.

"Sorry, Sonic!" She apoligized.

Shadow finally walked over and sat next to me again.

"I was just really worried about you, Soniku! I thought someone might have kidnapped you or something!" She said concerned.

I sighed. "I'm fine, Ames."

"What happened?" Knuckles asked.

I sighed again. "Me and Shadow were having a race."

Shadow picked up. "He avoided a tree and tripped on a stick pointing out of the ground and passed out."

I finished." And Shadow was taking care of me after that."

Knuckles looked a little surprised while Amy was a little upset.

"I'm just glad you're okay, Sonic," Knuckles said.

"Same here. I wouldn't know what to do if something happened to you," Tails said.

"Don't worry. I'm alright," I said with a smile.

"Well I have stuff to do," Tails said.

"Same here. I need to get back to the Master Emerald," Knuckles said.

"I was going to play with Cream at her house," Amy said.

"Okay, well bye guys!" I said. They wave as they leave and I wave back as they go out the door. I turned to Shadow. "You wanna sleep?" I asked and yawned.

"I'd love to since I can't keep my eyes open," he said.

I smiled a little and layed down. I put the blanket over me and got comfortable an dclosed my eyes in thought.

Shadow layed down with me. I blushed a little. "What are you doing?"

"I didn't feel like getting up," he said.

I blushed more and stuttered. "O-okay." I closed my eyes and fell asleep. Shadow smiled and followed suit.
