It was no surprise to anyone when Danny and (y/n) became friends. (y/n) was always so kind to people, especially to the new kids in school. But in no world did Danny think that he would end up falling for them. I mean yeah sure they were very pretty- beautiful even but still. If Danny could use one word to describe the current situation he was in, it would be simple: confusion.
The faded sound of Mr. Smith's voice rang through your ears as you patiently waited for the bell to ring. It was the beginning of June and school was practically over but for some reason you still had to be here.
As you look to your left you see Danny, your best friend, already looking at you. You smile and whisper "This is boring, do you wanna get out of here?". He looks around like he's questioning whether or not to do it before nodding. Looking back at Mr. Smith you see him looking for something in the room next door. You make a signal to Danny as you slowly get up and leave.
"Ugh finally! God that class is boring" you complained as you and Danny walked through the hallway.
"If I was Mr. Smith I wouldn't even be able to listen to my own voice" Danny answered while slinging his arm around your shoulder.
"I know right" you said before pushing the doors to the school open and walking out into the sunshine.
"Where should we go?" Danny asks looking at you.
"The hangout?" you suggest as he nods in response.
The hangout was a place that you and Danny found a few years ago. It's basically an abandoned building with a skating rink outside of it. It's pretty cool.
You arrive and sit down on the concrete of the skating rink. "The weathers' nice today" you mumble as you lay down on your back and look up at the sky. "Yeah" Danny mumbles back as a response as he does the same.
A couple of hours pass but nothing has changed except for the sky. It's darker now and a little more cloudy. A light breeze sweeps by as you lightly shiver and move closer to Danny.
Now this was the problem that Danny always had with (y/n). They would do stuff like this, move closer, touch his hair, all kinds of flirty things. It made poor Danny feel extremely confused.
"(y/n)?" Danny asked, making sure that you gave him your attention.
"Mhm" you answered quietly, moving just a little bit closer.
"I think I'm in love with you" he said, now getting your full attention.
"What?" you asked sitting up, genuinely confused at his words.
He didn't say anything, he just looked down as a tear slowly fell from his eye. Now he knew that he'd messed up.
"No no no Danny don't cry oh please don't cry" you said trying to comfort the boy in front of you as his words repeated in your head.

"What?" now he was confused
"I love you, Danny" you said looking into his eyes.
You two stayed like that for a while, just staring at each other before you broke the silence.
