In the background Annika could still hear the noises from the television and if it was possible to make her situation more heated, a slow, romantic song started to play and she stood there, clutching the corner of the table, her eyes looking at anything but at him.
The words have effortlessly slipped through his mouth, 'I want you to take you on a date, now', she heard him but she wasn't reacting to it, she wanted the ground beneath her to swallow, her fingers were a bit shaky but that was it, she stood firm on her legs, not wanting to show that she was weak because she wasn't, she was a strong women.
Shivaay bit his lower lip, his eyes followed from the person standing in front of him to the person he wanted to take to on a date, there she stood, not ready to meet his eyes as if he was going to eat her alive and raw. He hated to see her like this even though he had met her like some hours ago, she had a huge anonymous effect on him and it wasn't that made him attracted towards her more than anyone but the way she worked, the way she would shyly look down when she was embarrassed and the way her eyes held so much of innocence in then, it all made him curious.
He would do anything to make it up to her, when he had received some unexpected calls, he couldn't help but get indulged in his work, it was important, more than anything at that moment. "Annika, please" This made her look up at him, was it possible that he looked guilty for what he had done? Or was she dreaming all of this, from start to end?
"Hey listen Mr Oberoi, my friend right there is not interested anymore" Gauri had spoken up before Shivaay could say anything and when he heard her, his face fell, he did not want it to happen like this, he had revised the lines to apologize to her as he came over to her place but standing here infront of her, he was at loss of words. Shivaay cleared his throat, his eyes fixed on Annika who was now stealing glances at him.
Gauri tilted her head, the man standing in front of her was sure handsome but a jerk too and she wanted to leave behind a bruise on that beautiful face of his but decided against it, she didn't wanted to end up in the jail. "I just want some minutes to talk to her, please" Shivaay looked down at Gauri who was ready to smack the door right at his face but she continued to compose her anger.
Annika now looked into his eyes, he looked really desperate to have a talk to her and why was she even denying his request it wasn't his mistake completely, she should have kept in her mind that he was busy person and handling such a big company was not an easy task and it needed his full attention. She moved towards him, slowly, her mind screaming her to go back but her heart letting her move towards him.
"Gauri, it's ok, I will talk to him" Annika kept her hand on her shoulder, assuring her that she would handle him, handle the situation. Gauri looked into her eyes and pressed her lips together, her eyes threatening Shivaay before moving away from their eyesight.
Annika closed the door behind her, the both of them standing face to face now, her hands crossed over her chest making Shivaay nervous just by the looks that were been thrown by her at him. He took a step closer to her but leaving behind enough space between the two, his blue eyes never leaving her face, he wanted to let her know that he was extremely sorry for what he did but his mind kept jumbling between the words.
