I just realized yesterday was Friday the 13th. To be honest, I don't even remember why it's considered an unlucky day or if it even is considered that.
School has been cancelled for the next two weeks, a "soft closure", the call it. I guess it's good for me because now I'm not actually missing days of school, and I'm just like everyone else who is missing school.
I had to clean our bathroom today. My mother wouldn't let me use bleach because she wanted to save it for disinfecting clothes and other things that could possibly have coronavirus on it. I guess it's valid reasoning, but as we have tons of rubbing alcohol it's also a bit fallacious.
My piano lessons have moved online as well; because of audio distortion and artifacts created by the call it's harder to conduct a lesson than before.
The world seems smaller because of coronavirus. Several members of music Discord servers have coronavirus, and it makes it seem all the more real. It still feels pretty surreal; it's a global pandemic, I'm sure no one believes they will ever live in one. But we are. It's kind of scary, but at the same time not at all scary.
I wonder if American colleges will choose students differently because of novel coronavirus. It's interesting to think about. If someone's grades became bad because of their lack of access to the new online classrooms that have been implemented, would colleges pass that by because it was during school closures?
My teachers are continuing to give us assignments and homework. They're using Canvas by Instructure. I know fairly well how to use this website, but each teacher uses it differently so it adds to the time it takes to learn.
Speaking of learning, I wonder if school will ever completely migrate online.
Anyway, if you're reading this, I hope you don't get COVID-19. I hope everyone stays safe. Really.
