Parker and Finn walked into the glee club talking about how many instruments she could play.
"Wait so let me get this straight, you play both acoustic and electric guitar, piano, violin, cello, flute, and clarinet?" he asked.
Parker nodded, "yeah. My grandmother was very set on me learning things like the violin, cello, flute, clarinet, and piano. My mom wanted me to be cool and spunky so she had me learn guitar and it was a win-win for both of them."
He nodded, "What can't you play?"
"I can't play drums, I've always wanted to learn, but my grandmother said it was 'unladylike," she responded.
He thought for a second then smiled, "what if I teach you to play drums?"
"I don't know. What if I'm not good at it?"
He shook his head, "I'll only admit to it this one time, but I was never this good. It's like when you first learned how to play an instrument. You're never good at it at first, but with practice, you'll be amazing."
"Okay. I'll do it," she said with a smile.
"Alright, new directions! Big news; as you all know vocal adrenaline came in second last year at nationals," said Mr. Schue.
Finn nodded, "the only good thing to come out of that lost weekend."
Rachel gently slapped his hand to get him to remember they were together again.
"Besides us getting back together," he smiled at Rachel.
Mr. Schue continued, "well the boosters at Carmel don't donate tens of thousands of dollars every year to come in second. So, they fired Dustin Goolsby-"
"So handsome," said Artie.
"And they're having trouble finding a new coach," said Mr. Schue, "seems like no one wants to take on that pressure cooker."
"That means they're vulnerable," said Tina.
Mr. Schue nodded, "yes, and if we work hard enough we can beat them. Which is why I realized, that, Um... I can't direct the musical this year."
"No, no, no. Mr. Schue, you can't cancel the musical. My New York dreams depend on it," said Rachel worriedly.
Mr. Schue shook his head, "I'm not canceling it, I am just not directing it. My sole focus has to be in here. Nationals, Nationals, Nationals. And it's not just me that's gonna have to focus harder this year. I've been too easy on you," he goes to the whiteboard to write something, "every day, after choir practice, I am instituting a mandatory choir practice," he continues to write booty camp on the board, "booty camp, so we can work on our dancing. Now it's not all of you. Just the people I think need help. Like..."
"Finn," Finn says with a small smile.
Mr. Schue smiles, "how did you know? And Puckerman, Hummel."
Kurt gives a shocked expression, "I must protest."
"You can't have one move, Kurt," said Mike, "it's like this; sashay, and it's super distracting."
Mr. Schue nods then proceeds, "Jones."
"What?" Mercedes says, "hell to the nizzy-no."
"You told me once you were Beyonce," Mr. Schue shrugs, "you don't think she spends extra time in the dance studio?"
Mercedes rolls her eyes.
"Mike Chang has offered to be my assistant and we start tomorrow," Mr. Schue says.
