snow globe

I feel that I'm stuck in a snow globe.

Trapped in a hemisphere of things that frighten me.

I should think contentedly and be courteous.

But my fear is frozen with the cold.

The tune that plays through these plastic walls is a familiar one.

Like clockwork, a memory that runs through my veins.

An anthem I wish not to hear.

The snow globe continues to shake, people in awe.

The outside can look so perfect can't it?
