SAVANNA POV
I was breaking down in front of everyone. I was silently crying. I started to imagine a world. A world without Alex. I looked around. The smell of breakfast flooded my thoughts. Auriela came down from downstairs. We walked into the kitchen where my husband was making breakfast. I pecked him on the cheek.
Then Auriela scream. Alex was in front of me with her hair in his hands. My fantasy disappeared from around me. Alex was pulling her head back by her hair. I jumped up and kicked him. He released Auriela but the teenage boy grabbed her and held a knife to her throat. We were almost there at the door.
Alex was huddled on the floor groaning in pain. I was at the door. I looked between Alex and Auriela. I had my hand on the doorknob. I let it go. I walked over and sat down on the bed as the boy released my daughter. She scrambled over to me. I held her tears falling out of my eyes.
Alex stood up. He grabbed my arm while the other boy grabbed Auriela's arm. He brought us down to the cellar. I saw the cages. But he threw both of us down the stairs into a crawl space. He slammed the door. Auriela crawled I to my arms crying.
" Shhhh it's okay. It's okay." I told her. She was shaking.
I knee that Alex wanted me.
He would get me.
Even if that means me dying for her.
