Chapter 2 - (Prisoners)

Hazel woke up but she was still tired. She found chains on her legs and arms and here the chains were blood. She couldn't move. What happened to her? Then all the memories came back to her, and she seemed to relive that moment when everything went wrong.

She was done with the cubes and was exhausted. She used lots of magic and almost reached her limits. Daniel told her to stay for the night but she teleported away. She was in the middle of the forest when The Shadow Waves attacked. She was too weak and couldn't fight them off. Then everything went black, and the last thing she heard was stuck in her head. They said get the other magical one. They wanted Megan too.

Naomi turned her head back and forth to see if she could find Megan. Naomi layed eyes on Megan in the corner laying on a bed. She looked alright, but they had to get out of here. Naomi tried to use her magic but couldn't. She was still too weak, but Naomi should have been able to use her magic still. What was happening to her?

"Megan wake up, please." Naomi said, but she was still asleep. "Please Megan I need your help. I need you to wake up."

Megan stirred then woke up. She jumped out of the bed.

"What happened? Where am I? Wait, Naomi, you're here too?" Megan asked.

"Relax, I will explain but first can you try to help me." Naomi replied.

Megan tried but failed to take out the chains so she sat down by Naomi. Naomi explained what happened then she asked,"How did you get here?"

"I was awake and writing in my journal when I heard something and then Annie came out and tried grabbing me. I used some of my magic to try and get rid of her but my magic wasn't strong and then she knocked me out. I heard Katey screaming and running after me, then I heard the portal and didn't hear anything else till now."

Naomi stared at the floor not saying anything. This was her fault. Maybe if she didn't ever create the cubes they wouldn't have gotten to Megan. Then the iron door opened and a figure came out.

"Good your awake." the person said.

Naomi recognized the voice. It was Annie's.

"Oh you're awake too. Unlucky for me."

Annie walked over to Megan and grabbed her.

"NAOMI!" Magan screamed.

"STOP! LET GO OF HER!" Naomi yelled back.

But Annie ignored her and dragged Megan away.

Naomi didn't know what to do. She was stuck in this cell. She was too weak. Her powers weren't working. The worst part was that they took Megan and Naomi didn't want to think about what they were doing to her. What was the point? She just wanted to die. Maybe everything would go back to normal.

"MEGAN" Naomi shouted again.

Just like before there was no answer. The tears Naomi held back came out. Will they ever get rescued? She wondered what Katey and Daniel were doing right now. For now Naomi had to conserve her energy. She had to get out of here. Naomi closed her eyes and fell into a deep sleep.

"Naomi... Naomi... NAOMI," the voice yelled inside Naomi's head.

Naomi didn't want to wake up but she did anyway.

"Megan?" Naomi asked when she woke up.

"It's me." Megan exclaimed,

"What happened." Naomi said.

"I guess you can help me understand this." Megan mumbled.

Annie dragged her to this room and started asking questions. Megan refused to answer, so Annie told her something. Annie told her that The Shadow Waves were the good guys and they were in this place called Twilight Cove. Yeah right. Naomi didn't believe The Shadow Waves were good. If they were good why did they kidnapped her and Megan? Naomi decided to ask Megan that later and let Megan continue. Annie said that Megan wasn't really a part of her family. She was from The Enchanted Forest. Annie also said that it was her destiny to help them, and for some reason Megan believed them.

"Are you crazy?" Naomi asked. "Megan you are not from here. I saw you being born."

That moment when she saw her mother giving birth to Megan was something she could never unsee. Who knew that births could get really gross.

"And of course The Shadow Waves are trying to convince you to join them. Don't you understand that they kidnapped you and me."

"But Annie said that they had to so they couldn't be revealed." Megan said

"And that is a dumb reason." Naomi replied.

"I think you should get some rest. You look tired." Megan mumbled.

"But I've been asleep for a long time. If anything you should get some rest." Naomi replied.

"Fine." Megan said.

She laid down on the small bed and soon she was asleep. Naomi could tell that she was annoyed but she didn't want her sister to join the wrong side.

Naomi's magic was still weak so she couldn't escape yet. She decided to keep track of Megan's thoughts. Megan was angry and was planning to prove that they could trust them. Of course Megan didn't understand, she was only 8. Most kids that age wouldn't understand who to trust. Naomi really wished that she could tell Megan where her magic came from, but she promised not to tell anyone unless given permission.

In the morning, well Naomi guessed it was the morning when she saw a little bit of light through the window that was way too high to escape from, Megan woke up. Naomi was still keeping track of Megan's thoughts.

"So, do you understand yet that they are going to take over the universe if you join them." Naomi asked.

"YOU HAVE BEEN READING MY MIND!" Megan yelled, her voice full of anger.

Naomi had been training Megan to use her powers but not when to tell if someone was reading your mind. Even if she taught Megan to know she didn't have full control.

"I was worried that you might do something dangerous." Naomi explained.

"Well , you don't understand how hard this is for me." Megan said.

Naomi felt Megan's anger taking over and then there was a bright light and Naomi felt the chains exploding and they cut Naomi's skin. Everything went black. But the pain lingered. The last thoughts Megan had before Naomi was gone was the most terrifying words ever.

"Did I just kill Naomi?" Megan thought when Naomi slipped away and embraced the darkness.
