Megan sat by the window. Ever since she killed Naomi, Annie took her to a different room. It was way to fancy with the canopy bed and silky curtains, but Megan couldn't stop thinking about how she killed Naomi.
"She hasn't been talking or sleeping. All she does is stare out the window." the voice outside her door said.
"I'll go in and talk to her." The other voice said.
The door opened and Annie walked in. Megan looked away and said, "What are you doing in here."
"Checking on you. You know that I could tell that you were having a hard time adjusting to this new life." Annie replied.
Megan went back to staring out the window. Annie walked over to her and said,"It's like that because The Wizards of Old put a curse on it."
Outside the window was a beach with waves going up and down. The flowers and trees lining the beach looked beautiful, but it was missing something. It was missing color. Everything was just a plain gray unlike the forest.
"How did they do it?" Megan asked.
"Well I don't exactly know but maybe there is a book about it." Annie replied as she walked over to the bookshelf. She came back with a book that said,"The Curse of Twilight Cove." Megan read.
Annie left the room while Megan walked over to the bed and sat down. She opened the book and found a bunch of letters she couldn't read. She knew how to turn something she couldn't read into something she can, but it was hard. She thought about the language she wanted while staring at the book. Nothing happened. On her seventh time the letters turned into english.
Right away she started reading.
The Wizards of Old
The Wizards of Old were ancient and used spells to make the world a better place. Magic and spells are very different things here in the forest. While magic is rare, spells can only do little things unlike magic. The five wizards of old had names for when they were wizards but nobody knows their names. The only names creatures know are their real identities. Their real names were, Oliver, Thomas, Kayden, Lily, and Katelyn.
These wizards made a choice to rid the beauty of Twilight Cove, turning it gray and sad. Before, magical creatures like mermaids, sea serpents also better known as seagons, and many more lived in peace and grew stronger.
The wizards hated that they got power so they combined their power to make a curse. The curse was to rid the beauty of the cove and until one person can see the beauty of the cove the curse shall break and the creatures and color shall come back.
Ever since the wizards disappeared to hide themselves waiting for someone to break the dreadful curse and free Twilight Cove.
Megan closed the book. She got the information she needed, but still thought of the wizards. One wizard sounded familiar. Megan searched her memories and remembered that her mother's name was Katelyn, but she wasn't her mother she just raised her. Besides, she couldn't be a wizard.
Megan walked over to the bookshelf and put the book away and grabbed a blank sheet of paper. She had to try to reach out to Katey and tell her everything, and how she killed Naomi. Megan walked to the desk in the corner and started writing. When she was done she thought about what she wanted to do. Nothing happened. Maybe if she said it out loud?
"Teleport this letter to Katey and when she writes back teleport back to me." Megan said out loud. The letter disappeared out of her hand. Hopefully it will reach Katey.
Megan guessed that Katey would come after her but would it be worth it? If she was born Katey wasn't really her sister. Still she had to tell her to stop coming after her.
"Will she understand I don't want..." Megan started to say but couldn't finish.
What did she want? Before Megan could think about it the same letter popped into her hand. Megan tore the envelope open. It read.
Megan,
I read the letter but why can't we come save you from the bad guys? You know they want to take over and they need you and Naomi to help them. By the way, Naomi is not dead. You teleported her to the castle, but she was really hurt and didn't wake up for the longest time. She could barely speak, but she told us where you were. Also I think you should let us save you because I am your sister and Liam really cares about you. He convinced the king of the Dragisfangs not to eat us so we could save you. Even Mylee, Raylie, Taylor, and Alexis want you to come back. I wish you can teleport to us but I understand that you are not strong enough to teleport yourself. We are saving you whether you like it or not.
From your sister, Katey
Megan was mad. No, she was furious. Didn't Katey understand that this was where she was supposed to be? For some reason she believed The Shadow Waves even if they kidnapped her and tried to hurt her. The lamp on the table exploded and pieces of glass flew around the room. Megan threw up her arms and stopped the glass. She had to control the magic, and she would train. She would take control before the magic controls her, but she thought of Katey and the words she wrote. Why didn't she trust her? The anger took over and the glass fell to the ground. Megan started to cry. Why did the magic always stop all of a sudden? Megan decided If Katey really cared, Megan would come, but if she didn't, Megan would stay with The Shadow Waves even if they were the bad guys.
