"Just a day away." Alexis said to Katey.
They had been walking for days and could finally see the cove. On the way they didn't run into anymore creatures. Probably because in the letter she mentions how the creatures disappeared.
"I know, but she is right over there. Why can't you go now?"
"Katey I know you want to save her but the rest of us are tired. We've been walking for 3 straight days without resting. We'll start again in the morning."
Alexis went to her sleeping bag by everyone else and fell asleep.
"Well if you are not coming I'm going." Katey says as she walks towards the cove.
It was morning now and Katey was a few hours away. She heard something behind and she Whipped around and found Liam.
"LIAM WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?" Katey yelled.
"I followed you because... I left a note to the others..."
"Why are you here?" Katey asked again.
"Because I want to help save Megan. I woke up and saw you going to the cove so I followed you. I really care about Megan, because she is my only friend." Liam replied.
"And.." Katey said.
"I like her." Liam finished.
They decided to wait for a few hours to see if Mylee, Raylie, Alexis, and Taylor could catch up.
"I TOLD YOU TO WAIT FOR US! INSTEAD YOU HAD TO GO BY YOURSELF! YOU SHOULD HAVE WAITED FOR ME!" Alexis shouted at Katey and Liam.
"Well we are out now and just a few hours away so lets just go." Taylor said.
"Fine." Alexis agreed.
As they walked their surroundings became gray and sad. No noise, no animals, no color. They finally reached the cove but found gray sand.
"Well what else did the note said?" Raylie asked.
Katey took out a piece of paper out of her pocket. When she saw the letter she made a copy of it.
"Annie said that there is a rock formation called Mermaids Hope where a secret passage is hidden and shall take you inside their base." Katey repeated the note.
"On the map, Mermaids Hope is to our right."Taylor said
When they found Mermaid Hope Katey didn't think it was a rock formation. Actually, she didn't know what it was. There were waves with sea animals and in the middle of it all was a mermaid. The mermaid had long wavy hair with bright blue scales and seashells all over her hair. She was holding a trident to the sky.
"This is not some rocks. It's fairy rocks carved and painted into the queen of the mermaids." Mylee said.
Liam stepped forward and started to climb up the statue. We were right above the trident when he tapped the top. A door opened right in front of them.
"How did you know where it was?" Alexis asked.
"You guys didn't see. The fairy rock is still colorful but the top of the trident isn't, which is weird because everything else doesn't have color, but I guessed that was the button we needed to find." Liam explained.
Katey could now see what he was talking about, but she had to get to Megan. Katey took a step forward.
"Katey what are you doing?" Taylor asked.
Katey jumped into the hole.
Katey crashed down on the ground, but it wasn't sand it was marble floor.
"WATCH OUT" Raylie exclaimed.
Katey was about to get out of the way when Raylie, Mylee, Alexis, Taylor, and Liam crashed on top of her.
"I told you we should have gone one at a time." Mylee told Raylie.
"Well it was quicker." Raylie replied.
"I can agree with that." Mylee said.
Everyone got up and looked at their surroundings. Just plain walls and a mysterious hallway. Katey took a step forward, and another step. She turned around to find them following her. It was like she was the leader and they would follow her.
"Let's do this." Katey whispered.
They ran down the hall. Turn after turn they didn't find Megan or anyone else.
"I think I know where she is." Liam mumbled. "Everyone listens."
Katey stopped and listened. She heard nothing. They stood there and listened for about 2 minutes until she heard a little blast like magic being blasted.
They took a right and ran down the new hall that Katey realized they hadn't gone down. They only found one door and purple light was coming out of the cracks. Alexis came up and kicked the door open, and there right in front of Katey was Megan.
"You actually came for me." Megan whispered.
"Of course I did." Katey told Megan as she hugged her sister and started crying.
"I thought I lost you." Katey whispered in Megan's ear.
"I don't want to ruin the moment but we should leave." Taylor said.
"Wait, before we go I need to show you something." Megan replied.
Katey's eyes were now in a different memory, but it wasn't hers it was Megan's. All of Megan's memories and emotions were playing in her head. It was bad. Lots of the memories looked terrible. The worst was Megan's determination to work for The Shadow Waves. After what seemed like a lifetime Katey's head cleared and she could think properly.
"I'm sorry that I was going to join them. I was lost and couldn't find myself."
"Okay everyone gets it, but we should leave." Mylee replied as she walked out of the room.
"I'm strong enough now. All we need to do is hold hands and I can teleport us out."
It was true. She had been training everyday. Everyone grabbed hands and Megan closed her eyes. They floated off the ground and in less then they disappeared.
They teleported back to the castle in the throne room but everything wasn't right because in the far corner was Daniel, Aubrey, Naomi, Prosephenie, and Ares in the corner and a hooded figure with the sign of The Shadow Waves on their sleeve.
"This is bad." Katey mumbled.
