LANI

"Alright, Miss Berger," Jasmin said with a smile, handing me my carry-on luggage along with a small bar of chocolate. "It was a pleasure to have accompanied you during your first private flight and I wish you all the best for the future and, of course, a wonderful time in America. The land of infinite possibilities."

"Thank you, that's really sweet of you." Touched, I looked at her and was about to inquire about how to proceed when Jasmin cut me off immediately:

"I have taken you to the VIP waiting area, which was arranged with Ms. Rutherford. I'm sure she'll be here any minute, so you, Ms. Berger don't have to do anything but stay here and wait for her." She led me to one of the chairs, "Do you need anything to do that? A glass of water or a book perhaps?"

"Oh, um, no, thank you. You've done more than enough for me, and I'll just get busy with my phone for a bit."

"As you wish."

"But, uh-, what about tips, by the way? Would ten dollars be appropriate?" A little embarrassed, I dug my wallet out of my pocket and pulled out a wad of cash.

"'Oh, for God's sake, no. You don't have to tip me. Keep this to yourself." Gently she rejected my hand along with the ten dollars, " I'm grateful enough that you've been so kind to all of us and had a good time."

"Oh, eh-"

"But a recommendation would be appreciated not only by me, but by our entire team. Just tell your friends and family about this trip and our service. It will bring us new customers."

"Haha, I will. Promise."

Even though really no one in my circle of acquaintances, could ever afford such a flight...

JAYDIN

"You're taking them to childcare over lunch! Basta!" my mother grumbled at me, handing Aiden his snack on the side.

" Pa, I most certainly will not! I just had the seats cleaned last week! I'm not getting any dirty kid's shoes on them!"

"What if we take our shoes off?" Ready to compromise, Fleur pointed to her pink sneakers, but I shook my head a second time.

"Jaydin, I-," Roseanne continued, but then was interrupted by a screaming Mae.

Hmm, that gave me an idea...

"I'll drop Mae off at daycare for all I care, but Fleur and Aiden can walk!"

"Walk? Wow, just when I thought I could praise you for once," Roseanne wrinkled her nose, "you're tearing it all down with your huge ego!" Frustrated, she looked at me, "Just forget it, Jaydin.  But don't think I'll pay for even one gas bill from you this month!"

"So what? I don't give a damn. I'll just let Griffin chauffeur me around," I laughed in her face and picked up Mae's Maxi-Cosi with a, "See you tonight, Roseanne."
