☆LANI☆
"Finally Saturday," Griffin said with relief, pushing the bowl and the finished dough towards me, "Any plans for the weekend, Lani?"
"Um, good question." Smiling, I started kneading the dough: "I think I'll finally start my new book and do something cool with the little ones. Who knows, maybe Jaydin will even want to come along."
"That would be lovely. I wouldn't begrudge you that," Griffin said calmly, "You've had a really good influence on the kids so far. You're making a difference here."
*melt
"Aww, thanks Griffin. That means a lot to me and you're doing a really great job too!" I looked at him encouragingly and then returned to my mealy-mouthed work.
"Morning," a muffled voice suddenly announced and a completely exhausted Jaydin stepped into the kitchen.
Half naked!
Shit.
"Morning, Jaydin," I greeted her with a stammer and at the last moment caught my plate, which had slipped out of my hand.
Don't stare at her cleavage. Don't look at her abs, don't keep your eyes on her-, ugh! It's best not to look at her at all!
"Why are you on your bra-, eh, legs so early? It's Saturday, isn't it?" Not giving her a glance, I dug my hands into the dough again.
Jaydin laughed out loud.
Bitch.
"Hmmm, just felt like getting up early." She casually walked towards the fridge, grabbed an energy drink from the ice compartment and immediately positioned herself behind me: "Do you need help, crawling bug?"
Fuck.
I don't know if it was the fact that she had been standing in front of the freezer half a second ago or if she had opted for a rather revealing choice of clothes, but kneading was no longer an option.
Well, except for her-, Lani! This is your protégé!
"J-Jaydin, ehm-,"
"What's it supposed to look like when it's done?" she asked calmly and I swallowed hard as her breath hit the back of my neck.
Please don't come any closer. Please-,
"A unicorn. A unicorn for Fleur and a dinosaur for Aiden! You can tell!"
"Haha, seriously? Not unless you cover my siblings' eyes during breakfast," she said teasingly and then poked me gently in the side.
Ugh.
"As if you can do it any better."
"Oh, let me have a go and I'll prove to you that I can do it better than anyone else." Slowly turning to face me and pulling her lip between her teeth, she looked at me and I struggled to keep my footing.
W-we're still talking about the dough, right? About kneading the dough, right?" my brain inquired in confusion and I felt alternately hot and cold.
"P-please. Feel free to help yourself," I replied, more stuttering than articulate, and immediately extricated myself from this dicey situation.
Jaydin grinned knowingly. "Well, a unicorn, as the name suggests, has a horn and a dinosaur needs long teeth and claws. If it's going to be a T-rex, at least." She expertly began to roll out and shape the dough afresh. "The secret behind a good and, above all, recognizable waffle figure lies in the details. They add that certain touch," Jaydin explained, which really impressed me as she actually knew a thing or two about it.
