★JAYDIN★
"I can't believe she thinks she can actually impress someone with that," I muttered, annoyed, and reached into the popcorn bag.
"Huh, you mean the fairy?" Irritated, Lani leaned towards me but kept her eyes on the screen.
"Nah, the walking spiked hat who gets to call herself a cashier," I replied, almost throwing up, earning a good poke in the ribs in response.
"That's no way to talk about people, Jaydin! Besides, it's been forty minutes now! Get a grip on your life and forget about it!"
"What do you think I've been trying to do all this time?" I asked Lani mentally and tensed my jaw. "That scam will never work a day. She'll never pick up a girl."
"Hmmm, well it would have worked on me and the little ones seemed to have liked her too."
"THEY WERE BRIBED WITH LOLLIES!" I screamed and slammed my popcorn on the floor.
"Hey, could you please be quiet now? We're trying to watch a movie here!"
"Oh, really? That's a surprise. I thought you were actually going for an urgent plastic surgery and accidentally ended up in the wrong room. Oops."
"Wha-, that's-"
"She doesn't mean that!" Lani tried to calm the heated tempers and looked back apologetically.
"Yes, I did mean that."
"No, you didn't mean that," she said firmly and put her hand on my thigh. Presumably to calm me down, but-
Fuck. Did she have any idea what she could do with such a move?
"It's obvious that she won't get into any panties with that cheap pick-up shit," I tried to change the subject dryly, which made Lani wince and turn backwards. She let out an exasperated sigh:
"Maybe that's not her goal at all? Maybe she just wants to get to know a nice, decent girl, ask her out for coffee and-"
"Haha, yeah, as if. She wanted to fuck you. Nothing more."
"Jaydin! Keep your voice down! We're in a children's movie, damn it, and I don't want to be thrown out in the last few minutes!"
"Oh, but you both will if you don't shut up now!" another bastard intervened and looked at us angrily.
Amateur.
"Oh yeah, I'd love to see you try. If you touch a single hair of mine or hers, it won't end well, fat boy."
"What-, bridle your tongue, you cheeky thing! How dare you, huh? Ever heard of showing respect?"
"Respect where respect is due."
"The audacity to speak to an adult like that, as-,"
"You'd better back off now or you'll leave this room in a body bag."
"Ha, is that supposed to be a threat? Are you seriously threatening me?"
"W-what, no, no one's threatening anyone here," Lani said quickly and looked at me bitterly:
"Jaydin, maybe you need a breath of fresh air?"
"Uh, nope, not necessary."
"And how that's necessary." With starry eyes, she made me understand that it wasn't a question, but a request: "Go have a smoke for all I care and then wait outside the hall."
"That's right." The mallard from the row behind us clapped his hands enthusiastically, which made my blood boil even more.
Uuh, wrong call...
