Wake Up Call

Chapter 15

"Okay Peter," I said.

"Macy," he replied.

"I remember you from somewhere just don't know where," I said.

"Yeah," he stuttered "uh me, me either."

"Hey mom, I mean Lindsey where are the twins?" I asked.

"They moved in with their dad, they chose weather they wanted to stay with me or go with there dad," she sighed.

"But can't you see them every other weekend?" I asked.

"Yeah, but they want nothing to do with me," she said.

"Why?" I asked.

"I don't know," she sighed again and put a dish in the dishwasher.

"Oh," I walked up to my room.

Ring ring ring.

I picked up my phone and answered it.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Hi this is Carlee from 'kids world.' I was wondering if you could come and help us take care of the kids, we will pay ten an hour," she said.

"Yeah I'm on my way," I said and hung up the phone.

I grabbed my Chapstick and I already had my phone so I went down stairs.

"Lindsey I'm gonna go to work!" I yelled.

"You have a job?" She asked.

"Yeah," I went out the door and got in my truck.

"Macy!" I heard someone yell as I walked in the door.

Then Rylee came over and hugged my legs, "oh hey girly," I said.

"I missed you!" She said.

"I missed you too!" I said.

I picked her up then Carlee said, "No picking favorites, Macy."

"Ha, too late," I whispered under my breath.

Then I ran into someone.

"Peter," I said suprised.

"Macy!" He said.

"I didn't know you worked here," I said.

"Volunteer. You?" He asked.

"Me too."

"Okay Rylee let's call your mom," I said because it was six and she was supposed to be picked up at five.

"Okay!" She said.

Ring ring ring.

"Hello?" She said after she answered.

"Yes this is Macy I am at the daycare um Rylee is still here who is coming to pick her up?" I asked.

"Her dad was supposed to pick her up, I'm in Alabama." She sighed.

"She can come with me tonight and I can call him back tomorrow to tell him to pick her up," I said.

"Would you really do that for me?" She asked.

"Yeah, Rylee really sweet it will be okay." I said.

"Thank you so so much," she said.

"No problem."
