Wake Up Call

Chapter 20

May. I love may. You know why I love may so much? Because that means we get out of school.

But right now I'm so stressed thinking about what I'm going to do for Cameron's eighteenth birthday.

Honestly this would be easier if we were still broken up.

I started making the list for who's coming.

Cameron's birthday list.

Football team (not Jayden or Parker )

I figure that's enough people because on the football team there is like fifty people plus some.

I gave them all nicknames like pushy Parker, jacked up Jayden, carry me carter, killer kian, packer Peter, pale Phil, fat Fred, big belly bill, cute Cameron, sneezy sketor, whiny walley, fuzzy frank, drying Dave, droopy David, tree top Thomas, kitty Kyle, drowsy drake, and many more...

But those nicknames are for me and Lexie to know only.

Anyway back to the point.

I picked up my phone and called Lexie,

"Talk to me," she said.

"Yeah, um, are you able to run to the store and bring me over some stuff for Cameron's birthday party?"

"Sure, text me what."

"Okay, love ya girly, see you soon."

"You too!"

The line clicked dead and I texted Lexie the supply list.

"Okay I got everything you need streamer, ballons, cups, pla-" I interrupted,

"Thank you, now if you would please set them on the counter while I finish getting invitations ready for everyone t-"

"Macy! Calm down," Lexie set the supplies on the counter, "I know it's going to be perfect. now I will help you finish the rest on the invitations then when we get done we will set up, when is he coming home?"

"Uh he will be home a,t uh um, I can't think. I know he's, uh, spending the night at Kian's house, then he's gonna come here at like eleven or so."

"Okay, so we have to make invitations for the whole football team except Parker and Jayden."

"Right," I said.

"Okay well then let's get started," we started making invitation as fast as possible.

When we finished Lexie said, "now what, how will they get them a day in advance that won't give them enough time, besides we don't know where they all live."

"Well I happen to know that they have practice today for six to eight, it's twelve twenty two now, so we can decorate then we will go the the football field. I've already talked with the Mr.Capps so he will call the players back one by one and I will give them a card and say 'don't show Cameron' and send them back when Cameron comes Mr.Capps will be there and talk with him on a certain skill, that's how we will get the invitations to everyone." I took a big breath.

"Wow, well we better start decoration because it's now twelve thirty."

"Okay," we decorated and decorated until everything was done.

It was 5:52 we had eight minutes to get to the football field.

When we got there it was 6:02.

"Mr.Capps!" I said walking toward him.

He was a tall, muscular man coming close to baldness.

"Okay are they in the order of this list?" He asked, he pointed at the clipboard.

"No, um but we will do that." He walked out to the field and started yelling at the players while I handed Lexie every other card after we got them in the right order.

We call d Mr.Capps back over to us and he called out two people at a time.

We finished!

"Okay all the players will be here in ten to twenty minutes," I looked at Lexie, "is everything ready?"

"Yes, it's perfect."

The cake was a Green Bay football because that's his (and my) favorite football team.

"Welcome," I greeted as they flooded through the door.

When Cameron came in I have him a big hug.

He looked at the place in amazement, "wow this looks amazing."
