Ella and Stiles slid out of the Jeep, letting out sighs as they saw Scott standing in the rain. "Hey, sorry I had trouble starting the Jeep again. That thing's barely hanging on. I couldn't get in touch with Malia or Lydia," Stiles explained as they walked up to him, the rain beginning to drench their clothing. Ella furrowed her brows at her boyfriend as he seemed to stare at them with no expression. "Scott?" She asked, "What's going on?" He looked at Ella and pulled out the wrench from his jacket. Ella's breath hitched in her throat as she looked at Stiles then back at the wrench in Scott's hand, "Where did you get that?" "Is this yours?" Scott asked, not looking at Ella but at Stiles. Stiles grabbed the tool from Scott's hand.

"Why didn't you tell me? Why didn't you tell me Ella?" Scott asked, but Ella only stared down at her shoes. "I was going to. We were going to," Stiles answered for both him and Ella. "No, but why didn't you tell me when it happened?" Scott asked. "I couldn't," Stiles said, "We couldn't." "You killed him? You killed Donovan?" Scott asked. "Well, he was going to kill my dad and Daniella. Huh? Was I supposed to just let him?" Stiles asked, raising his voice a tiny bit. "You weren't supposed to do this. None of us are," Scott shook his head. "You think I had a choice?" Stiles asked. "There's always a choice," Scott insisted.

"Scott, I hit Donovan first," Ella said, "and well, we can't do what you can, Scott. I know you wouldn't have done it. You probably would've just figured something out, right?" "I'd try," Scott answered his girlfriend. "Yeah, because you're Scott McCall! You're the true Alpha! Guess what? All of us can't be true Alphas," Stiles shouted. Ella nodded, "Some of us have to make mistakes. Some of us have to get our hands a little bloody sometimes." "Some of us are human!" Stiles shouted. "So, you had to kill him?" Scott asked. "Scott, he was going to kill my dad and Daniella," Stiles said. "But the way that it happened - There's a point when it's It's not self-defense anymore!" Ella shook her head, "What are you even talking about? We didn't have a choice, Scott!" Ella bit her lip, looking at Stiles who stared at Scott, "You don't even believe us, do you?" "I want to," Scott nodded. "Okay, all right, so. . So, believe us then. Scott, say you believe us," Ella pleaded, tears rimming her eyes. "Say it. Say you believe us," Stiles said. "Ella, Stiles, we can't kill people that we're trying to save," Scott said. Stiles shook his head and Ella tried to step closer, but Scott stepped away. Ella let out a breath, "Say you believe us."

"We can't kill people! Do you believe that?" Scott asked. Ella walked back to Stiles, tears blending in with the rain that fell on her cheeks. "Well, what do I do about this? What do you want me to do? Okay, just be - Scott, just tell me how to fix this, all right? Please, just tell me, what do you want me to do?" Stiles asked. "Don't worry about Malia or Lydia. We'll find them. Maybe, maybe you should talk to your dad," Scott muttered as he went to walk into the animal clinic.

— Ella's POV —

I shook my head and curled my fingers around his wrist and made him turn to look at him. "Scott. . you have to believe us! It was to protect me and Dad, okay? Me!" I exclaimed, "Scott, baby, you have to believe me. It was self defense." "Stiles killed him," Scott muttered. My breaths were coming out heavy. "Do you not trust us? Why - why don't you believe us?" I asked, my voice cracking. "I don't know who to believe anymore, Daniella!" Scott snapped at me. "You don't even believe me? Why is that, Scott? Because some kid that you probably switched lunches with back in the fourth grade came back and told you some story that was probably way out of range from the truth? You're going to believe some guy and not your own girlfriend who you've known since you were ten years old? The one who has seen you at your worst and best times and never chose to leave? The one who helped you through your father leaving? The one who was your shoulder to cry on? The one who helped clean up your cuts and bruises when you injured yourself? You're not going to believe me? Mjesec Nicole Stilinski? The girl you love," I asked, stepping closer to him as I spoke.

Scott placed a hand on my cheek, "I want to believe you, Daniella. I really, really want to, but we can't just kill people that we're trying to help." I closed my eyes and shook my head, "No matter what I say. . you still won't believe me." "I'm sorry," he said, beginning to remove his hand from my cheek but I quickly gripped his wrist and kept his hand. A burning pit settled in my stomach as I realized what I was about to do and closed my eyes. I didn't want to, I really didn't. But it was just for a while before we get back on our feet. "Scott. . relationships are based off of trust. A relationship without trust is like two people trying to trick the other one into believing something is there that isn't really there. No relationship of any kind can exist without trust." "Daniella –" "Shh. Scott if you don't believe me. . or trust me. . we can't have a healthy and stable relationship," I said, opening my tearful eyes to see him staring down at me with sadness.

"You won't believe me when I say that it was self-defense what Stiles did to protect me. I could've died, Scott. Sure someone else did, but what about me? What would you have done if I died?" I asked, still not opening my eyes. I let out a ragged sigh as I took Scott's hand and kissed it softly before looking Scott in the eyes, "I love you, Scott." Scott started to shake his head, catching up on what I was about to say. "No, Ella, no." "Scott," I said, shaking my head, "I'm sorry." "Daniella, please stop! Don't say anything else!" Scott exclaimed, his whole body shaking like mine. I let out a sob as I shook my head, "We have to take a break, Scott. It's just until we can learn to trust each other again, okay? It's for the best and you know it is." "Daniella," Scott cried and I looked at my princess ring to avoid his face. "I love you to infinity and beyond, Scott McCall. And this isn't going to last forever," I said, sniffling, "It's just for a week or two, okay? Because true love always finds its way back." I placed my hands on either side of his face and nodded, "And I know that what we have is true. I love you, I love you, I love you." Scott pulled me in for a passionate kiss, leaving me breathless. Then I looked Scott in the eyes and whispered a soft goodbye.
