In Corona there is a queen and king. King(?) Eugene Fitzherbert, who is also a captain of the guard, Queen Rapunzel, and their beautiful, six year old girl Y/N. Rapunzel and Eugene always loved their daughter, but there were times Y/N would stay by her parents; other times her curiosity could get the better of her.

"Come and catch me!" Y/N yelled while the handmaiden, Faith, was trying to get her. Y/N ran faster through the castle, dodging maids and guards, but accidentally bumping into the royal engineer. "Princess Y/N, what are you up to now?" "Uh nothing, Mr. Varian," she sheepishly smiles. Varian chuckles and kneels down to her height, "I saw you running from Faith. Does that count as nothing?" Y/N sighs in defeat "No sir, but I just wanted to do something fun."
"You're just like your mom, but maybe running around in the castle isn't a good idea." Varian stood up and Faith comes around the corner with a furious look on her face. "Princess, let's go back to your room and get you dressed." "But Faaaiittthh, I wanna play," Faith groans and Varian taps Y/N's shoulder. "Hey I think you should go with Faith." The girl looks to Varian and to Faith and back to Varian. "Ok bye bye, Mr. Varian." She takes Faith's hand.
In Y/N's room, it was originally Rapunzel's just except she had a smaller bed with (favorite color) sheets and stuffed animals lined up against the wall, toys were strewn on the floor. On the big bookshelf were more toys and stuffed animals, along with books. One particular book Y/N loved to read was Rapunzel's journal her grandmother gave to Rapunzel.
She always thought Cassandra should have stayed in Corona. But she had her own destiny even though her pass deeds against Rapunzel were bad. Rapunzel, just as she helped Varian, redeemed her and they became best friends again.
Y/N wonders where Cassandra is now, she imagines Cassandra being a hero of a village, a warrior woman in Ingvarr, or maybe she found love? Nah probably not that.
Once Y/N was dressed in a light pink dress and white flats, she goes to her mom's room and knocks on the door. "Mommy?" Rapunzel opens the door, "Hey sweetie," "Can we go see daddy?" Rapunzel nods and pascal hops onto her shoulder. They go to the courtyard seeing Eugene and Maximus going over plans. Eugene notices his wife and daughter, "Hey sunshine and (N/N)!" Rapunzel and Y/N hug Eugene "How's my queen and princess?" "We're doing great daddy, how are you" "I'm doing great now that you both are here," Max trots over to Y/N neighing happily "Hi Maxy!" Max knelt down letting her hug his neck.
"What's that, daddy?" Y/N points to the parchment in Eugene's hand, "It's some plans for the placement of guards around the castle. Would you like to help?" Y/N was picked up by Eugene and he shifts her onto his hip. Y/N questions "Why did there have to be guards when you defeated the bad guys? Shouldn't we have less guards?" "You may be right, yes we did defeat the bad guys but they might come back. Now that we have you, there has to be more to protect us. I don't want our little girl stolen from me and your mom." Eugene explains and Rapunzel puts her hand on her daughter's cheek, "Eugene's right, we don't want to lose you."
Y/N remembers what she read in her mother's journal about Zhan Tiri and tightens her grip on Eugene. "What about that monster Z-Zhan Tiri?" Eugene and Rapunzel stood there shocked at the reminder, "Zhan Tiri will never be coming back ever since Cassandra and I collided the moonstone and sundrop. Zhan Tiri was destroyed but the aftermath...had caused Cass to die and everyone was weak." "And then you said the healing incantation while holding moonstone and the sundrop. Then you saved everyone!" "Yes that's what happened. I'm glad everyone helped. Now let's go Uncle Monty's, I would like something sweet to eat."
Rapunzel and Y/N walk down to the sweet shop. After they buy their food, they sit down by the fountain, talking about anything that came to mind. Y/N has always liked that she could have a conversation with her mom and talk for hours. "So mommy since you're queen, do you get to have adventures still?" Rapunzel finishes her cupcake and answers truthfully, "No not really," she sighs, remembering all the adventures she had, "but it's always an adventure with you, my little lantern(that's Rapunzel's nickname for you)" the little girl giggles and wraps her arms around her mom, hugging her tightly. "I love you, mommy"
"I love you too, Y/N"

AWWW this was such a cute and fun one shot to write! I really do love child reader stories because going back to when you were a kid and being so innocent and curious about everything. Also what would you call the moonstone and sundrop together? 🧐🧐🤔🤔
