Meg's Pov
,,Kara! Breakfast is ready!",I called up the stairs as I was fixing my hair. Today, was a big day. I had an interview. Ever since It died, I tried to find the perfect job for me. And I might've found it. Okay, Kara helped me find it and got me this interview. She was the one who wrote to them and maybe my mother pulled a few strings. I didn't know, but I was grateful to have both of them helping me with this. Plus, it was exciting because I didn't really know where I would be working. Kara said something about being an assistant to an author who offered to give me some advice on writing a book. I did write one, a shorter story, which I wanted to take with me so he could look at it. Yes, I was nervous and excited. Who was the author? Kara and my mother wouldn't tell me a single thing. I had my suspicions and guesses but they only got answers from the secretary.

,,Morning Mom. You look great.",I heard Kara saying as she was at the bottom of the stairs.,,It's not too much?",I inquired, walking into the dining room with her.,,Not one bit. Now, stop worrying. You'll be fine.",she assured me, pouring herself a cup of coffee. I nodded a little and grabbed my bag.,,Oh, totally forgot. This came in yesterday.",she said and gave me an envelope. I took it and looked from who it was. My heart almost stopped. Patty? Why did she sent this letter? I shook my head a little.,,Could you put it in my room? I'll read it later. Thank you.",I asked her. Kara nodded and looked at me with a big smile.,,What? I gotta go. Don't be late for school and call if anything happens.",I meant and heard her laughing as I grabbed my bag.,,Stop being nervous and I know all of that already. They wouldn't say no to you.",she reassured me and kissed my cheek.,,It's just... After all that went down these past months... I really need this job.",I told her and sighed a little.,,I know. But it will be fine.",she said and I nodded. She was right. I should stop worrying so much and just see how the interview goes. After that, I could freak out or cry. I walked to the front door.,,I don't know how long it'll take. You can order something today. Cash is in your room!",I called and got an:,,Understood!", as an answer from Kara. Now, I had everything and left the house. I got in my car and put the bag on the passenger seat. Then, I drove off to where I would have my interview.

The ride was a little longer because I had to get out of town. My nerves were still on and I was very excited but still really nervous. This job... I needed it. How should I pay for the house or anything else? My mother couldn't and wouldn't always be there to help me. I wanted to show her that I could do this and this job I might actually like. That was a bonus for all, mostly for me. I turned on the radio and the first song that came up was 'Shake It Off' by Taylor Swift. I turned the volume up just a bit and hummed along. Was I a big fan of Taylor? Not really, but I liked a few songs of her. This one, I liked. Without realizing it, I started to sing a little. I got lost in the moment and just enjoyed it. No one could hear me and this calmed my nerves a little. I started singing after the second verse:

Shake It Off – Taylor Swift

But I keep cruising
Can't stop, won't stop grooving
It's like I got this music
In my mind
Saying, "It's gonna be alright."

'Cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play
And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate
Baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake
I shake it off, I shake it off
Heart-breakers gonna break, break, break, break, break
And the fakers gonna fake, fake, fake, fake, fake
Baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake
I shake it off, I shake it off
