Meg's Pov
A few weeks had gone by since I started working with Bill. I answered his emails and letters, with him knowing what was standing in them, sometimes made tea or coffee and even cooked for us. What? If we were working for hours on some book, yes, I helped him with some ideas and chapters, we needed lunch or a snack. Bill helped me a little with a book as well. He gave me some tips on how he wrote his. Some of his works were inspired by his own experiences, like our encounters with It. Yes, we didn't forget everything this time. Bill had talked with Mike about it and Mike's response was that this time around, we got more to remember thatn to forget. In a way, he was right.
Anyways, Bill and I were taking a break at the moment.,,So, how's your book coming along?",he asked me.,,Better than I would've expected. I'm not going the same route you did. Horror or thriller books aren't my thing.",I replied, taking a sip of my beer before looking at him. This was what I had missed when we were separated after the first fight. Just my friends and I, talking and hanging out.,,I mean I like reading them, but they're not my cup of tea to write.",I quickly added and laughed a little.,,No offense taken, Meg. Not everyone takes traumatic experiences and does what I do. What are you writing anyways?",Bill said and heat rose to my cheeks. I looked away, laughing nervously. My books was inspired by Bill's and my friendship. Two kids who are falling in love, one of them with the other and the other with someone else. I couldn't tell him? Could I? That would be way to embarrassing.,,It's about two friends. That's all I'm going to tell you.",I decided that this was about enough information I would give him. Bill nodded, smiling a bit. I looked at my watch and stood up, cursing under my breath.,,Where are you going?",Bill inquired, following me back inside. I grabbed my bag and got out my phone. Messages and missed calls from Kara.,,I forgot to pick up Kara. I'm sorry, but I gotta go and get her.",I apologized, looking at him.,,No, no. It's alright. Family goes first.",he replied and I smiled a little. I quickly hugged him, said my goodbye and left the house.
Little time skip
I arrived at Kara's school and saw her. She came running to the car.,,I am so sorry. We lost track of time.",I apologized over and over when she got in. Kara laughed a little.,,Mom, it's okay. I was studying with some kids. Now, I got new friends.",she meant as I sped off.,,Still, I'm sorry. I promised to pick you up and take you shopping today.",I replied and kept my eyes on the road.,,Mom, really, it's fine. Besides, we can still go shopping if you're down for it.",Kara said. I sighed and giggled a little.,,Okay, yeah. Let's get some clothes.",I thought, nodding as an answer for her suggestion.
,,How was your day, anyways?",she asked. I looked at Kara for a quick second.,,As it has been for some time. I got coffee for Bill and I and we worked on a book. Well, I gave him some ideas and answered a few letters.",I told her and saw her smirking out of the corner of my eyes. This made me a bit suspicious. She was planning something, but what?,,I'm glad that you get to hang out with them. Your high school friends, I mean. There aren't a lot of people who stay friends after graduation.",Kara said, sounding a bit sad. I nodded and put a hand on her knee.,,Don't worry. If you're friends are like mine, than I can assure you that you'll be friends forever.",I promised her and smiled a bit.,,You really think so, Mom?",she inquired.,,Yep. There might be some tough times coming for ya. Just telling you now.",I joked and we laughed a little. Then we were silent again.
Then, my phone rang. I looked who was calling. Of course, my mother. Never had a better timing. I put her on speaker on the radio.,,Mom, what's up?",I asked, rounding the corner.,,Hello to you, too, my loves. I know that Kara's there.",she replied. Kara giggled a bit.,,Mom, why are you calling? Did something happen?",I inquired, not wanting to talk to her right now. My mother was really... intrusive sometimes. And she never really changed. Especially, when Kara was born. It only got worse.,,You don't have to be so annoyed, right away. But, I was thinking about having dinner with you this Friday.",Mom meant. I nodded a little to myself. Okay, wasn't a bad idea.,,Okay, yeah. We can do that. Do you want to bring something?",I replied. I was already thinking about buying everything for Kara and I to cook. She loved cooking and I couldn't blame her. Food was good.,,I'll bring some pie. What about Bill? Will he come, too?",my mother inquired. Okay, now I was knew where this was going. I laughed breathlessly.,,Okay, alright. What did you do, mother?",I immediately asked. She gasped a little before laughing. Kara laughed, too.,,No, I'm curious. What did you do?",I repeated and feared the worst.,,I only asked if he wanted to come, for old time sake. He'll bring beer.",my mother told us. I closed my eyes for a split second.,,Okay, fine. But next time, ask me first, please? Don't just make a decision without asking me first. It's still my house where we'll be eating.",I meant and parked the car. My mother was so bossy...
