warnings: mentions of abuse, punching, cursing

"so let me get this straight; you're telling me that you want to use my dad's car to show up at bradley lewis's house to...kick his ass?"

syd nodded her head. "yes, can we use it?"

stan grinned at the two of us and held up the keys. "only if i get to drive."

the ride was quiet, the only thing being heard was stanley's bloodwitch tape playing faintly in the background.

sydney turned over to look at me in the backseat. a large grin on her face as she spoke. "so, this is the plan. we all show up to his house, you give him a piece of your mind, and after you're done; kick him in the dick."

stan winched at her words. "not the dick."

she rolled his eyes. "he's abusive to arlene, he deserves it." he nodded his head. "that's true."

my stomach felt uneasy. "i don't know, syd. what if he hurts me again while you two are there. you don't know what he's capable of, guys."

"then i'll beat him up!" stan said confidently. syd rolled her eyes. "what?" he asked.

"no offense stan but if you and bradley were ever in a fight; i'm pretty sure he'd win." i said finally speaking to him.

stan nodded once again. "that is also true."

sydney turned back to look at me. "don't worry about it, arlene. if you stress about it too much you'll drive yourself crazy." she turned back around once she was done talking and i leaned back in my seat. she's right, nothing to stress over. it's just my super abusive boyfriend.

we showed up at his house and stepped out of the car. we didn't saying or do anything. we just stood there and looked at the front yard.

stan was the first to speak up. "so, this is it," he turned over at me. "do what you need to do."

i took a couple of steps and finally got the courage to ring the doorbell. i could hear the footsteps getting closer to the door. my palms started to sweat. this is a bad idea, arlene. this is a bad fucking idea. i should just turn back around and get in the car and drive away. but it was too late.

brad answered the door and put a smug smile on. "hey, babe," he glanced over at syd and stan and looked them up and down. "i see you brought your friends with you."

just get to the chase. "i...um...brad i-."

"what arlene is trying to say here is you're a piece of shit and she doesn't want to be with you anymore." sydney spoke up.

i turned around and stan and sydney stood next to me on each side. "yeah, you're abusive and a dick. she doesn't want you anymore."

brad smirked and looked right at me. "she wanted that dick last-."

"no i didn't!" i yelled at him. "you wanted to have sex and i told you no...but you wouldn't take that as an answer so you fucking hit me, making me scared for my life and had to go to the person who actually cares about me. sydney."

sydney blushed and looked down.

"in fact, now that i think about it. sydney would treat me better than you have if we were together." i said getting in his face.

brad scoffed. "you rather be with a dyke than me?"

i looked back at her and smiled. "yeah, i would. any day." bradley scoffed and shoved me back on the ground, making me fall and groan once i hit the ground. but that wasn't the end of it, when i fell back brad grabbed a hold of me.

"leave her alone!" stan yelled. he came charging towards brad but brad raised up from me and punched him scare in the face.

brad looked up at syd and smirked. a tear went down her cheek. "what are you gonna do?"

syd just stood there in fear and silence. i didn't blame her, stan just got knocked out and so could she if she came close enough.

brad turned back to look at me and pinned my arms down on each side. "bradley, get off!" i yelled. i tried kicking him but nothing worked. i was stuck. all i hoped for was a miracle.

all of a sudden bradley practically flew back and into a metal trash can. knocking him out cold.

i looked up at sydney who looked scared for her life. stanley lifted up from the ground and rubbed his head, a groan erupting from his mouth. when he noticed bradley was knocked out by the trash can his mouth opened wide and the corners turned up. "holy shit, syd, you did it!"

"she did it?" i said. he got up and put his hand up for a high five but syd ignored it and ran up to me and pulled me into a tight hug. "you're okay." she shakily whispered.

i pulled away and smiled. "i'm fine, but what was stan talking about?"

syd looked back at stan which he just nodded his head and put up a thumbs up. she turned around and sighed. "i have superpowers."

i couldn't help but burst out of laughter when she said it, but looked at both of their faces; they were completely serious.

"oh, that makes a lot of sense."

stan winced and held his eye. "i think the pains kicking in," he said. syd sighed and put a hand on his shoulder. "come on, let's get you home. i'll drive."

"bye stan!" i yelled to him. "sorry about the black eye, thanks for the help."

he smiled over at me. "are you kidding? bradley got his ass kicked. it was worth the black eye."

syd and i started laughing  at stan's words as he yelled bye and walked into his house. i turned over to sydney and smiled at her. "shall we walk home?"

"we shall." she said.

the walk was a bit quiet, the only thing being heard was our feet hitting the ground and the sounds of insects. until syd spoke up. "arlene?"

"yeah." i said.

she got quiet. "what was that 'i rather date syd' thing about earlier?"

i looked down as my feet as we walked. "i don't know, it just came to mind. anyone would be better than dating bradley," i smiled to myself. "but yeah, i'd totally date you."

syd stopped and looked me deep in the eyes. it went on for awhile so i spoke up. "syd, are you-."

she took my face and smashed her lips on mine. the kiss was magically. her plump lips on mine felt good. we made out for a bit.

when we pulled away we were gasping for air. "i really like you, arlene."

i kissed her once again before pulling away and saying. "i like you too, syd. thank you for this."

she grinned at me.

"you're welcome."
