my nose sniffled as i walked down the pitch black empty street. the only light coming down was the dim streetlights.

a limp was in my walk from my left leg, feelings my eyes whelm up with tears every time i would take a step and blink them away just for more to come out. just a couple more steps, i told myself, then you'll get to sydney.

finally i arrived at her house and rang the door. syd came to the door and rubbed her eyes, yawning a bit when answering. "arlene, it's one in the morning what do you-."

"c-can i please come in," i didn't mean to cut her off but i needed to get inside. "please."

syd finally took the time to look at me and eyes widened of fear. i could see her flicker her eyes down from eye bruised eye, my bruised arm, and limp leg. "holy shit, arlene. are you o-."

i grabbed onto sydney and pulled her into a tight hug. letting out all the pain on her. we stayed like that before she pulled away from me and told me to go upstairs with her so she could clean me up.

syd handed me the ice pack which i pushed on my left eye. "thank you." i said softly.

she didn't say anything, she just stared down at the ground looking upset. her arms crossed and huffing a harsh breath out.

i frowned at her. "sydney? what's wrong?"

syd shook her head. "i just...i hate that asshole, bradley. putting his hands on you. i mean...who would do that!" she threw up her hands in frustration. "especially to you. you're so great, and funny, and fucking gorgeous."

i smiled at her. "thank you syd."

she sighed as she looked up at me. "why would anyone want to mess up your beautiful face?"

a smirk went on my face as i took the ice pack off my eye and put it on my knee. "i don't know, he'll do it out of nowhere. i'll do something he doesn't like and bam, hits me," i sighed. "i just wish i could go up to him right now and kick his sorry ass in the face."

sydney grinned a devious grin at me and stood up. "let's do it, first thing tomorrow. we drive to his house and kick his sorry ass."

i looked up at her in confusion. "but we don't have a car."

syd snickered.

"true, but i know someone who does."
