The homunculi each stood on at transmutation circle drawn by Father.

"Now listen closely, my children. These transmutation circles will each transport you to different locations around Amestris. Your job is to look for each other, and...test your strength. The competition will last for exactly one week, and at then end...only one of you will come back to me. Alive."

Greed cackled with laughter, excited for it to begin. Lust and Pride were chill, trying not to show their excitement. Envy looked down, and Wrath tightened his grip on his sword. Sloth mumbled "such...such a pain..." and Gluttony licked his lips at a chance for food.

Father stared at his children. Some were so ambitious and some with no motivation at all. The person that would succeed would have to be the strongest, most clever, and the most skilled. They would be the one to perform his most malicious tasks.

Father raised his hand and his children tensed. "Don't make too much of a mess," he said before he clapped his hands together, sending them to the unknown.

Wrath moaned. He was lying on the ground somewhere. But where? He could hear people walking around and talking, so he must have been in the public somewhere. He opened his eyes. A young woman was standing over him.

"Oh, you're alive!" She exclaimed. "I don't know how to explain it, but you just seemed to kind of appear. Are you alright? Actually what's your name?"

Wrath paused for a second trying to remember. "King Bradley." He said, sitting up.

"Bradley? King Bradley? Aren't you the guy who's about to become Fuhrer?"

"Yes, but um, thanks for your help. I have to be going, excuse me."

The woman looked surprised. "Oh, okay. Glad to be of assistance. I'm sure you're going to serve this country well!" She smiled. "It was a pleasure to meet you."

Wrath gave a shy smile. "You too."

As he was walking away, he reddened. The woman was awfully pretty and kind. Who knows? Maybe they would meet again...

He couldn't get distracted now. He had to find his siblings...wherever they were...

He drew out his sword, ready.

Sloth was freezing. White thingies swirled around in the air around him. What was it called again? Slow? Something like that. It hurt to think. I'll just stop thinking, he thought to himself. This was such...such a pain...so annoying...

What was he doing here again? Oh yeah...kill...must kill...

Lust had woken up in the woods.

"Just great." She said to herself. She had no idea where she was. The east? Possibly. It was hard to tell where the other homunculi had appeared. She could be a few feet away from one or several miles away for all she knew. This was going to be challenging.

She slashed through some trees, annoyed by the situation she was in. It would probably be days before the real fun began.

Gluttony had already eaten three people. They all looked so tasty he just wanted more and more. Some of them were not very good though. They had metal limbs.

He was in a place called Rush Valley. He saw it on a sign, and then ate it.

The people were now all hiding in their homes, but Gluttony didn't care. They were so delicious, there was nothing getting in his way of food...

Greed smelled alcohol. Lots of it. He was on a couch. The room was darkly lit.

A young woman in a very showy dress was leaning close to him. Her chest was hovering over his face.

"Nice." He said.

"Oops silly me, I didn't realize you were awake!" The girl giggled, sitting back. "You were lying on the ground outside of our tavern and we just brought you in. Looks like the beer woke up!" She sounded sort of drunk.

"Where am I babe?"

"The Devil's Nest."

"Oh, is that it? I thought I was in heaven."

"Oh, you!" The girl leaned back in a flirtatious way.

"Sorry, my sweet, I got places to be." He put on his sunglasses and started walking out the tavern, leaving the girl, laughing to himself.

He was out in the open. Pride walked down a primitive dirt road with a white fence next to it that had seen better days. It was a giant green plain all around with some houses here and there. "I'm in Resembool, I think." He murmured to himself. "The country. Ugh."

Pride scoffed. Why such a simple place?

A woman and her two children were walking towards him. "Oh, little boy! Are you lost?" The woman called out.

Pride scowled.

Shadows quickly enveloped the small family, and went they lifted up again, they were dead. A pool of blood was starting to form.

Pride continued walking. "I hate when I 'm called that."

The sun beat down on Envy. He was in the middle of the desert. Of course. Figures that Father would put him in a hot sandy area (he always did think of Envy as a walking palm tree). Envy yelled in frustration.

That's it. He had had enough of playing Father's stupid little games.

He would show them that he was much more than a "palm tree"...
