Father groaned. This was unexpected.

Envy came into the room. "Well, I'm back!" He sighed happily, cracking his knuckles. "Those fools."

Father rose from his throne. "Envy."

Envy grew silent and stood still.

"You have indeed won, my child. Out of pure strength and raw ability? Maybe. Perhaps it was just dumb luck. Or maybe you found loopholes or tricks to find your way out of a situation. Or...I have made an extremely exquisite being. But that gives you far too much credit." Father walked over to a table that appeared to be a lab station of some kind. In seven tiny glass containers, six of them had red stones. The seventh was empty. "I certainly wasn't expecting you to win." Father continued. "But the power I placed on you has made you strong. You will be the one to carry out my most important missions. You have proved capable."

Father gathered the glass containers in his big hand. He threw them into the air and they shattered as they hit the ground. The stones trembled and one by one they transformed into the homunculi.

Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, and Pride were returned. "Just great." Envy muttered underneath his breath.

"My children." Father addressed them. "You have fought and tested your skills. I now see what work I am going to have to do with all of you. Your skills all differ from one another's which put some of you at an advantage. You all work for me now. What it means to be a homunculus, is serving me, and only me. But now-"

Greed cut him off. "Fuck you Envy. Fuck you homunculi. Fuck you Father. I'm tired of this shit. I don't need you guys, I'm leaving this hellhole. Well thanks pops, for bringing me back, but I will not be one of your puppets." He walked away. "See you." He held up his hand.

Father simply stared after Greed as he walked away. "Someday Greed." He said. "You'll be back. But not necessarily by choice. So be it."

Father turned to the other homunculi. "Starting now, my children, our real work begins."
