Chapter 1: Obsidian's Flawless Disguise

*October 19, 2016*

Becca's POV
Ob and I had just come back from the Blackwater Lake. The demon there was more than willing to help Ob recover from what had happened yesterday at Antimatter's hideout as soon as it sensed her kindhearted nature. It also restored our mental and physical links. Now, Jack and I were helping Ob get registered in the school that I was going to. At least until we heard a knock on the door.

"I'll get it!" I said. Ob tagged along behind me. Lily was standing on my porch.

"Hey, Lily!" I said. "Come on in!"

"Hi, Becca," she said as she stepped inside. "Who is this?" She gestured to Ob, who was using her powers to make her eyes look like mine. Her hair was still its natural blue color.

"She's my sister," I blurted out, not even a second before my face went red with embarrassment.

"Becca, I told you before," Ob said with a chuckle, "if you want to get anywhere with Lily, you have to be honest with her."

"You're right," I replied timidly. I turned to Lily. "Ob, you can release the disguise."

Ob's POV

"Hey, Lily," I said as I brought forth my black eyes with glowing blue irises. "What brings you here? I hope you didn't come just to get an autograph from Jack."

Becca: Ob, did you really have to flirt with Lily?

Ob: Hey, she was cute back then! And she's even cuter now.

Becca: Alright, let's just get back to the story.

"No, I didn't come for that," Lily said. "I heard about what happened yesterday and wanted to come see if you were okay. And I do remember Becca and Turq talking about you."

"Well, getting extracted from Becca's mind and then almost being completely stripped of my power by Antimatter was extremely painful, but I'm fine because I'm back where I'm supposed to be," I admitted.

"Who's Antimatter?" Lily asked me.

"His former host is the host of the YouTube channels The Film Theorists and The Game Theorists," I explained.

"MatPat?" she asked.

"Yep," I answered. "And that's not all. He had Markiplier and Darkiplier help him create the machines he used on Becca and I, though Mark was forced to help. And Dark forced Antisepticeye to kidnap Becca and I."

"Do you forgive Anti?" she asked.

"Of course I forgive him," I said. Seán is Becca's cousin, so that means Anti is my cousin."

Lily's POV

"Well, I have to go," I said.

"Take care, Lily," said Becca. I walked out of her house and to mine.

"Well, now we know they're okay," said a voice in my head. It was my demon, Turquoise, but I call her Turq. She was the one who convinced me to break up with Adam. She also had a tendency, at least in October, to go into my mom's head and tell her all about our day, which is why Ob couldn't sense anything out of the ordinary when she peeked into my mind. And she had a crush on Ob.

"That's good, but it looks like Dad's home," I replied as I walked into my house. I could sense Turq scowling as soon as I said that. Usually, whenever my dad wasn't on one of his business trips, he would get drunk and then physically and verbally abuse Mom and I. In fact, he's beating Mom up. I finally decided to give Turq what she wanted and let her take control.

Turq's POV

I'm glad Lily let me take control because I am tired of Dad beating us and Mom up! I rushed in between them and effortlessly blocked a punch from Dad that was intended for Mom. I looked at my father, my turquoise irises glowing with my fury.

"What are you--WHERE IS MY DAUGHTER?!" Dad shouted.

"She's safe in here," I replied, pointing to my head.

"I know someone who can FIX that!" He began to reach for his phone, but I used my powers to hold him in place.

"Dad, are you seriously working for the very same demons who extracted Obsidian from the Shadow-dancer's head?!" I asked.

"I am," he replied. There was no sign of remorse in his voice. "And, unfortunately for all of you, Antimatter and Darkiplier are still alive."

"They're WHAT?!" Dad and I turned to see Anti and Ob in the doorway, both teeming with rage. Ob noticed me and gave me a nod to say hello.

"They more powerful than ya think," Dad retorted.

"Anti, you know what to do," Ob said. Anti just giggled as he walked, or rather, glitched, towards Dad and I, grabbing him. They then teleported away using Anti's teleporter. Actually, Anti just dragged Dad through the portal. Anti then returned with blood stains on his shirt.

"I'm sorry for..." he began, but I interrupted him.

"It's okay, Antisepticeye," I reassured him. "Dad was beyond redemption anyways." He then went back to his home to clean his shirt, face and hands.

"Is this why Lily sounded bitter when Becca asked about your parents?" Ob asked me.

"Well, this and the fact that Dad was abusive," I replied, sitting on my couch.

"I'm so sorry you had to go through that, Turq," Ob said. I was surprised when she came up to me, sat down by me, and hugged me. And for the first time in my life, I felt comfortable crying in front of someone other than Mom.

Ob's POV

I decided to let Turq cry into my shoulder. Her mom looked at me and gave me a sad, yet knowing, smile.

"Yer the first one Turq and Lily have cried in front of aside from me," she said. I gained control of my shadow (something I've been able to do since Becca and I discovered our love for dancing, and my unique powers that have given us the name "Shadow-dancer") and made it go into their kitchen to grab a wet cloth. I then made it help Turq and Lily's mom clean her wounds.

"Thanks, I guess?" she said.

"Well, Becca and I aren't called the Shadow-dancer for nothing," I replied. I then turned to Turq.

"Turq, I know you and Lily are still trying to get over your sort-of-recent breakup with Adam, and I know you and I have been seeing each other in our hosts' heads, but would you at least like to be my girlfriend?" I asked her.

"I'd love to!" Turq replied. "After all, you and Anti did save Mom and I from my father."

Author: Ob and Turq are officially girlfriend and girlfriend!

Becca: Yay for Ob!

Ob: Now let's see if I get Becca to that same status with Lily.
