Chapter 12:Lightning City's Secret!

It was late in Lightning City as a scream from the Gym was heard. "Help!" Yelled a man running out of the Gym. "Luxray got infected from a zombie!" Luxray was the Gym Leader's ace Pokémon and would do anything for him. This time was different. The man that ran outside... Was the Gym Leader! He must have been devastated! Some carpenters came over and boarded up all of the doors and windows of the Gym. Lightning City no longer had a Gym...

"These hash browns are GREAT!" Declared Quinn as the three boys ate breakfast at the Gramps Hotel. Gavin was curious about something, "I wonder who this so called Gramps is. I heard he founded the company and is living in aka to somewhere. He must have hotels all over the world!" Josh answered him, "I bet he's more rich than Bill Gates!" The boys finished breakfast and went up to their rooms. Gavin was staying in room 126, Quinn in 123, and Josh in 128. If anything happened they were close by, but they mainly stayed in Gavin's room. The room 125 had been boarded up for some odd reason, and the boys didn't like being next to it. "Hey, I'm gonna go ask if we can get our rooms changed to the floor below us" said Quinn. He headed downstairs and asked the receptionist. "Why would you want to do that?" The woman asked? Quinn politely answered with, "room number 125. It creeps all three of us out and none of us want to be next to it." The woman told him the story of why it was and said it was perfectly safe, plus all the rooms on the floor below them were booked. The room was boarded up because the old mayor visited it and left his watch in the room. They didn't want anyone to go steal it, so they boarded it up so no one could get in.

It was now around 2 o'clock and the boys were eating lunch at De la Burgers Joint just behind the old Pokémon Gym. An odd and annoying howling was coming from the Gym. They decided to go closer to hear it better, but someone stopped them from moving one more step closer. "Stop! Don't go anymore closer!" The man shouted. They all turned around and asked who he was. "My name is Liam. I am the former Lightning City Gym Leader... I have been avoiding the Gym for years, and anyone that goes in it without warning never comes back... And most of all my partner is stuck in there, infected by this dumb infection. I wish my brother was here to cure those poor Pokémon, but sadly he is on an island researching this disease." The boys refused to sit around and do nothing. Gavin spoke up, "does your brother have any of his research left at your house or his own?" Liam answered, "his house is on the island but... He did live in my basement for a time after being fired from De la Burgers Joint as a sad man. He might have something down there! Please, follow me." Liam brought the buys over to his mansion where Liam's wife, Lola, had tea and muffins out on the table, but they had to refuse. They headed to the basement and searched for a good hour, and found nothing. "Gees, how big is this basement?" Said Gavin, "it's like a monkey trashed it and left its terrible smell back too!" "Oh, sorry about that" said Liam, "it's just that it floods a lot when it rains because it isn't finished. Wait! I found something!" Liam held up a formula for some zombie cure, but it was old and soggy. They decided to go see Old Man Wattson that moved to the Vander Region after having retired from the New Mauville Gym. The position was handed over to May, daughter of Norman. He could easily read science and old letters.

"Ah yes... Ahahahah!" Wattson had a very loud and obnoxious laugh. "This is doable. I think I have the ingredients for 17 doses of the medicine!" Wattson made the medicine and handed it to the boys and Liam. "Thanks Mr. Wattson!" Said the boys as they left. They headed straight for the Gym. It was now 6:30 PM and it was starting to get dark. "Now remember" said Liam, "you can't get infected, only Pokémon, so don't send out your Pokémon." They reached the Gym and took down the boards, turned on the old lights, and headed into the old arena. There they were. All of Liam's 6 Pokémon, including Luxray, stood in front of them. "Now!" Yelled Liam! The boys each threw a dose at a Pokémon! Josh's hit a Manectric and it worked! Manectric was back to normal! Liam returned it, but Quinn and Gavin's missed an Emolga and Tynamo. Gavin threw another at Jolteon and barely missed. Quinn finally hit Emolga after 2 tries. Liam and Gavin both nailed Jolteon just in time to where it was worn out. Three down, three left. Wattson came running behind them along with Lola. They started to help as well. The boys decided to chase the Pokézombs as the others threw. Quinn and Josh stopped a Pikachu, as Lola hit Tynamo. Only Luxray was left. Gavin sprinted after it.... BAM! The needle went in and Luxray was back to normal.... "Gavin! Run!" Yelled Quinn. Gavin turned around and-"AHHHH! What the, lemme out of here right now!!!" The boys were in a sack, each in their own. Who did this? Gavin faintly saw Wattson close the doors and Liam and Lola hit down the other 2... Are they being... Kidnapped?!? The boys were now on a plane, they could barely make out some voices in the pilot seats. "Mauville" "Used" "Plan" "Conquer".....
