Clarke's POV:
Save a weak soldier I repeated over and over in my head as I finished eating breakfast. I guess I'll find out soon enough.
Today is the day of my first challenge and I really need to make sure I don't fail. Becoming an enemy of the coalition wasn't something I'm interested in and that's what happens when you don't pass the contender trails.
I cleaned up my dishes and grabbed my stuff to head to the bus stop. When I got on the bus I quickly found Octavia and sat next to her.
"Bells not here?"
"No he's home sick." Octavia replied.
"Did you call the number O?"
"Yeah. You?"
"Yeah Lexa answered mine."
"Mine was Indra's number but Lincoln answered too."
"What's your challenge O?"
"I have to fight the general whatever that means."
"I have to save a soldier."
"I wish they could just tell us the challenges in normal modern terms."
"I know right." I laughed as I realized how crazy my life has gotten.
"You know we are basically joining a sorority-cult." Octavia joked smiling.
"Oh god." I said laughing as I tried to remember why I was doing this.
"Well at least we will get brainwashed together."

The lunch bell finally rang and I began to make my way towards the table me Monty, Jasper, Raven and O would sit at. As I navigated my way through the halls, I stopped walking as I saw a giant group of people gathered around two people screaming at each other. Fight! Fight! Fight! Everyone around them were yelling and I pushed my way to the front of the crowd to get a good look at what was happening.
"You're dead!" One of the two boys yelled swinging his fist as hard as he could at the other boy.
"Ahhhhh!!!!" The boy yelled as he fell to the ground clutching his face. You could hear the snapping of bones when the boy made contact with his fist to the second boys face. The boy who was hit was now lying on the ground in a pool of blood from his face.
When I saw that no one was helping, I shoved my way towards the boy on the floor and quickly started trying to help him. My mom is a doctor so I know what to do in situations like this. I tore off a piece of fabric from my shirt and pressed it against his face to try and help stop the blood rushing from his nose. I then asked him to open his eyes and follow his eyes on my finger as I moved it side to side, so I could check his pupils to check for a serious head injury. There was something wrong with his response time and I knew he must have been hit too hard in the head. This was at the least a concussion and I knew he needed immediate medical attention.
"Move out of the way!" I yelled hoping the kids gathered around us would move so I could get this boy medical attention. Of course none of them moved.
"You heard her!"
I looked up to see Lexa moving people out of the way.
"Thanks Lexa. Here watch this kid, I need to go find an adult."
She nodded in approval and I quickly ran to get help. I ran into a TA and he followed me towards the kid on the ground but when we got there there was no one. The blood was gone from the floor and the crowd of students was gone.
"What the hell?"
"Ms. Griffin." The TA angrily said looking at me. "This is not funny. If you try to pull a stunt like this again you will end up in detention."
I couldn't respond, just looked over at where the boy was previously lying down, still in shock. Save a soldier. I repeated in my head for the 100th time. No way. This was real I told myself.
I walked away from the TA and went to the nearest bathroom to wash my face and try to get a grip on my mind that couldn't stop racing. I quickly found a empty sink and started splashing water on my face.
I looked up from the sink to grab a towel and I dried my face before I looked in the mirror. I jumped in surprise nearly having a heart attack when I saw Lexa staring back at me in the mirror.
"what the hell! you scared me half to death Lexa!" I yelled turning to face her.
"Sorry Clarke that wasn't my intention."
"What the hell was that!?"
"It's sorry Clarke I can't tell you anything about the trials."
"Please Lexa it's me." I said walking towards her standing maybe 2 feet from her.
She looked down at the floor avoiding eye contact. "I'm sorry Clarke." She then turned and walked out of the bathroom.
I don't know what just happened. I thought to myself as I pushed open the bathroom door to go tell O everything.
