"Excuse me, do you need help?"
Mia looked up from her worksheet. Her pen dropped onto the hard wooden table with a loud clang. Her eyes were wide.
Wow.
That was all she could think about. Her eyes scanned his face. His glasses were nicely perched on his nose bridge. His eyes were dark brown, almost black. His hair was messy but in a stylish way. His eyebrows were knitted together, frowning. He had his arms folded on the table. She could see veins popping.
It took her all her might not to drop her jaw and leave her mouth hanging open. Mia was definitely amazed. To her, perfect faces never existed. She could not help but stare when she saw one.
"Excuse me, miss? Did you hear me?" the stranger asked. He looked even more concern now.
Mia finally snapped out of her trance. She shook her head and aimlessly brushed the stray strands of hair out of her face.
Get it together Mia.
She pointed her finger to herself and looked around the room to see if he was talking to someone else. The stranger then chuckled. Mia's head snapped back to look at him.
The stranger then gave her the biggest smile she had ever seen and said, "I'm sorry for disturbing you but you seem to be struggling there. I was wondering if you needed some help."
Mia was confused. She looked around her area and that was when she saw her hand. It was bright red. Her thumb that was clicking on the pen earlier had a small imprint on it.
"Oh no I am so sorry! Was I distracting you? I'm sorry!" Mia frantically apologised to the stranger.
He waved his hands, "No, don't apologise. I just noticed that you were having a difficult time and I wanted to help. What are you doing?"
Mia calmed down. She looked at her empty worksheet again. "It's just my math homework. I have been trying to figure out this question for so long but I still don't get it."
She then heard a chair being pulled. Mia felt movement beside her and turned her head. The stranger had pulled up a chair beside her and was peering over.
"I can help you with that. I'm good at math," he said as he placed his hands on top of the worksheet and pulled it closer to him.
Mia couldn't help but stare at his hands for a little longer. They looked way bigger compared to hers. His fingers were long and slender.
She was too distracted to realise that the stranger began writing with a pencil on her worksheet.
Mia curiously looked over his arm to see what he was writing.
She snatched the worksheet in shock when she saw what he had written. "Are you kidding me? I wasted all this time when all I had to do is start off with the Pythagoras Theorem."
