Monday blues were very real for students of Geurim High. Anyone from 10 kilometres away could sense the gloomy atmosphere that the students carried as they walked to school.
Mia however was an exception. She had neatly braided her hair that morning and even put on a face mask while getting ready. She was blasting her playlist at 6 am in the morning. She was never really like this. Even her mom was slightly confused as she watched her daughter happily skipped to the dining table and ate her breakfast.
She was grinning from ear to ear as she walked into school. Some students gave her weird looks as she passed them but she did not care. Mia was in a good mood today and nothing was going to stop her.
Mia then heard her name being called as she made a turn to climb the stairs. Ah Ra and Leah were catching up to her and they made their way up to class.
"What happened to you, Mia? You're practically glowing today!" Leah giggled as she hooked her arm with Mia.
Mia's smile grew even wider. She began telling them about her encounter with Taehyung. Both of her friends were excited and curious about the mystery man their best friend had met and they were listening very closely to her story.
"Is he your new official crush?" Ah Ra asked as they entered their classroom. No one was inside since they were surprisingly early today.
Mia became silent at that question. Her face slightly fell before instantly smiling again. She shook her head.
"Nope. It's literally the last semester. We have a like 6 more months till finals. Not to mention our preliminary exams coming up next month. I don't have time and energy to have a crush. I am just really happy that he is going to help me with math and hopefully increase my chances of getting into Sunset College."
Her friends agreed with her statement and gave her a hug as encouragement.
They soon reached class and went to their respective seats. Leah and Ah Ra placed their bags on their tables and headed down to the canteen to get a drink, leaving Mia to her own thoughts.
School ended on a good note for Mia as she confidently passed up her math homework to Ms Lee during the last period before making her way home.
Since Mia was in such a good mood the whole day, she decided to treat herself to a chocolate bar.
Mia made her way to a convenience store nearby. She sat down at one of the tables and ripped open the chocolate bar.
Just then, her phone dinged. She switched on her phone and saw that she had received a direct message on her Instagram. She clicked it open and saw that Taehyung had messaged her.
