Beep Beep Beep

My alarm goes off awakening me from my slumber. I sucked my teeth groaning, lifting my hand from the sheets slapping my fingers against the button of the annoying alarm clock turning it off. It was Monday morning, the sun shining brightly through my window, birds chirping sing songs and the smell of freshly baked pancakes in the air.

I shifted in my full size bed patting my head making sure that my scarf was still on. Today was my first day for starting a new college in Jersey and I wasn't about to make my grand entrance with a messed up hair do. Pleased that my scarf was still wrapped around my head tightly I stood up from my bed in a confident manner. I turned to my left where my I put my clothes and smiled. I already had today planned out. Last night I picked out my clothes. Black pierce the veil shirt, black ripped tights, black buckled boots and my favorite black skull gloves .

I was ready. After my hot shower I quickly put on my clothes added some black eyeliner and eyes shadow and a little lip gloss and boom I was done. Onyx Nitefall was ready for her first day at college. Me and my family moved here two weeks ago. We left a beautiful home, a beautiful city to live in "Hell City". We use to live in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Beautiful houses and landscapes, a quiet and great place to live. But instead of staying my family decided to make a change and live some where new. Instead of living in a house where i get to have my own room, my own bathroom that was the side of a living room and a backyard that expanded widely..welcoming the sun, and natures animals. I can almost smell the fresh air and feel the warm fur coat of the rabbit i use to feed back home. I named him snow ball because of his white fur. So clean and white and his eyes blue like water, pure.

Now we live in an apartment dump to which we can't have any pets since they weren't allowed. And worst of all, I have to share a room with my lil sister. Don't get me wrong I love the little rascal but there were days where I couldn't stand her. She believe that her destiny, her biggest dream is to piss me off. Always touching my things and bothering me all the time for nothing and when it gets physical, I am the only one who is being punished for it.

I head into my closet reaching for my black hoodie grabbed my shoulder backpack and my keys and headed out the door. I live in a city different from many people or as in regular normal people. Newark, NJ second most highest crime rate city in the whole United States.

Yes. I do live in the ghetto where girls wear skippy skin showing clothes and guys run around whistling, gang banging and putting there d*cks into anything that moves in heels. Fights breaking out at parties over who f*cked who man or who banged his girlfriend. But lucky me I tend to keep myself away from certain parts of the city, in other words, avoiding drama. I choose my friends wisely and careful around certain areas. It didn't take me long to learn much of Newark. I told that my parents use to live here before, in the harmony house back in East Orange. My mother said that's when I was born and many things went down over there. She told me that one day she let me go out and play with the kids in the playground. She was home cleaning up handling her business when someone came rushing to her, fear piercing through their eyes. They told her that I have fallen off the slide. And before she knew it, she was standing right beside her blood covered face child.

Of course I was sent to the hospital and the doctors told her that I was perfectly fine. Just a little scratches and a bruise on my forehead. To which they didn't explain was the mark on the side of my neck. It was some sort of tat, like a well designed heart with a forbidden symbol over it. The doctors would ask my mother weird questions like, "have you ever inked your child?" or "have you ever had anyone else baby sit your children?"

Ever since I graduated from Weequahic High School I let go all of my old friends, well not all but some. I was tired of seeing the same old faces since kindergarten so. I had to let them go. So it's college time new faces, new friends, new boys.
