A New Chapter: Katherine

Chapter 1

It was a pretty normal night in my home tonight, Dad and Mum were at it again. It had become so normal when they fight that my two sisters and I sat in my room watching tv asif it was music to our ears. We would sit and converse about school and other things while they fought. Dad walked in calling my older sister Stacy.

Stacy was the quiet one amongst us. She was tall and extremely thin and had long golden brown hair,getting a guys attention was fairly easy for her but she has refused all offers due to her fear of them being another dad.

"Stacy come outside I need you" Dad yelled as sweat drips down his face.

Stacy looked at us and rolled her eyes, we all dreaded when he would call us as it was always another story of how Mum made his life a living nightmare. We all knew Dad was a drama queen and 99% of the fights in our household was all his fault.

My younger sister Lily ran to the edge of the door and pressed her ear tightly listening to them converse. Though Lily is younger than I am she looked and acted much older. She was fairly short but she had it all. For a 16 year old she was physically mature.

"Katherine come quick he is talking about you" she whispered to me in her usual fast pace tone.

Dad always complained about how I wasn't connected to him and he was probably right. He had done enough damage to last a lifetime, I couldn't keep up the 'I love you act' for any longer.

After Dad left to go to the bar we all huddled around Mum listening to her cry and complain about her life.

As she began to talk I dossed off thinking about pointless things, anything to get my mind off the usual fiasco.
