I woke up in Damon's bed again. I rubbed the sleepiness out of my eyes and stared at the ceiling.

"You're awake?"

I turned to see Damon buttoning you his shirt to his uniform.

I nodded. "I'm awake."

He sat on the edge of the foot of the bed to put his black dress shoes on. " You're gonna be late to school."

I shrugged. "Wouldn't be the first time."

He finished tying his shoe and rested his hand on my leg. "Go to school Raine. Get up, Get dressed, and go be with your friends. They need you too."

I groaned and threw the covers off my bare legs. "You are really starting to sound like my brother."

He snorted and looked at me as i pulled on the legging i wore over last night. I threw my hair up in a messy bun and started making his bed that i had slept in.

"You don't have to do that."

I shrugged. "You let me stay here, I can make the stupid bed."

He held his hands up in surrender. "Help yourself princess."

I put the blankets back in place and tossed the pillows to the top of the bed.

"Do you have a ride to school?"

I smirked and put my hands on my hips. "If you're handing them out i would gladly take one."

He gave me a small smile and rolled his eyes. He grabbed his belt off the hanger on the door and left me in the room alone.

I snorted. "Not much of a talker in the mornings are we?"

I grabbed my phone off the side table and followed the same path out of the room as Damon had done before. I jogged down the stairs to the kitchen where he had a cold brew coffee and a blueberry muffin on the counter. He nodded toward it and I smiled, gladly accepting it.

I put on my shoes and texted Mia.

Me: Can you grab my book bag from my house?

mybitchmia: yes bby, i need details.

Me: well duh stoopid xoxo

I saw that Ryland had texted me but i ignored it. Damon held the front door open for me and I waited outside while he locked the door behind us. We walked to his police car and like always, he opened the door. I thanked him, getting in and putting my seat belt on. He got in on the drivers side and started the car.

I took a sip of my coffee. "Who knew you could make good coffee?"

He rolled his eyes. "I'm not completely hopeless Raine."

I snorted. "So ordering take out from the diner every night is not being completely hopeless?"

He smirked. "Yes that's exactly what being not hopeless means."

I rolled my eyes and inhaled my muffin. We pulled up to the school at the time where everyone was rushing to get to class. I saw Mia's car in her usual spot and pointed in the direction.

"Just drop me off right there."

He rolled his eyes. "Anything for you Princess."

I glared at him while he pulled up beside the trunk of Mia's car. I unbuckled my seat belt and opened the door to get out when he grabbed my arm.

"If you need anything, don't hesitate to call me okay?"

I looked into his blue eyes that sparkles with seriousness. He had a five o'clock shadow and his hair was messy from sleeping and him not bothering to brush it. He still looked perfect no less.

I gave him a small smile. "Isn't that kind of hard to do without your number?"

He grabbed a sharpie out of the cup holder and took the top off with his teeth. He flipped my hand over and printed the number on my wrist.

"Now you do."

I smiled and nodded. He ungrasped my arm and i exited the vehicle. I grabbed my backpack out of the bag seat of Mia's car. I saw that they were all at Ethan's vehicle watching me and I rolled my eyes. I tossed my backpack over my shoulder and jogged over to Ethan and Mia. Mia grabbed my coffee and took a sip of it while Ethan pulled me into a hug and kissed my head.

"Wow this is good coffee."

I laughed. "I know right. Damon Blue may be good for something."

She rolled her eyes and linked arms with me while Ethan threw  his over my shoulders. I looked over my shoulder and smiled as I saw Damon pull away.

.............

I walked out of the diner, pulling my keys out of my purse after closing up. I lifted my head up to the smell of weed to see a tall, pale, bleach blonde haired guy leaning against a blackout Lexus.

He smirked at me and beckoned me over. "Hello Raine."

I snorted. "Can i help you with something?"

He offered me the joint but i denied. "I've seen you hanging out with that cop. If you knew what's good for you, you wouldn't."

I rolled my eyes. "What i do is none of your business."

He stomped the joint out and stepped closer to me, I never took a step back. Growing up in the gang atmosphere, men like him didn't scare me.

"It is when I can take everything you love away from you."

I glared. "Look here blondie who do you think you are?"

He stepped even closer where I could feel his breathe on my face. "You know exactly who i am Raine."

I searched his face and then it hit me. "You're the rival gang. You've been killing all my friends."

He rolled his eyes. "Yes i'm the rival gang, but i haven't been killing your precious friends. Its bigger then me, and it's bigger then your brothers gang. But with you getting close with that cop you risk exposing us all."

I rolled my eyes. "So what if I dint stop hanging out with him, you'll kill my friends."

He smirked. "If i have to."

I smirked. "You don't have the guts to do it."

He pulled a gun out of the back of his pants and pointed it at my head, cocked and loaded. "This is me having the guts to do it. So i suggest you listen."

I nodded. "Okay fabio put it down, I get it."

He shoved it back into the back of his pants. "So we have a deal Miss Raine."

I nodded. "Yeah yeah can I go home now."

He nodded and turned to his car. "If you even breathe a word about this to anyone, you're dead."

What he didn't know was, he would be doing me a favor.
