It was day four of going through shit nobody (except for maybe Jared and Pip) could comprehend at all. I limped out of bed once again.

Meanwhile, my phone kept flashing notifications. I asked Ava to get it for me immediately. Then, we sat next to each other.

"Finally. You're awake."

FATE... Of course it had to be.

======================

20: So the next person who's gonna die is wearing red today?

18: yes. That makes me a prime suspect though, sadly.

04: What time of day though, specifically?

18: what do you mean?

07: For example Angel, it's almost 1 o clock and she's still sleeping. She's still wearing the same stuff from last night.

04: ...what she said

12: All I know is that the two people on our suspect list are Pip and Jared and they both got more active here suddenly

13: Allister's shoes are red

21: So are yours

07: Darn, too many people are wearing red today...

01: Let's count the people who aren't wearing red.

07: Update, Angel is awake

Me: So, who's wearing red today?

02: ...almost everybody except Jonathan?

Me: crap, really?

12: yeah. Actually, I'm not in red either.

10: does it count underwear?

18: ...let's hope not

02: Here's an idea. Instead of counting people wearing red, let's look for people not wearing red. That would be lillian and Jonathan as far as I know.

Me: i prefer orange and yellows thanks, i dislike red

02: So I'm assuming you're not in red either?

Me: thankfully not

13: Pip's always wearing those red gloves, isn't she?

18: Amy's way of looking at it or not, we're not getting anywhere at this rate, and time is ticking.

07: So what do you suggest?

18: 10 will die, is that right?

04: As far as I remember from the email, yes

19: Edward, say hi

10: hi...?

18: So we've confirmed it.

10: what

18: Go lock yourself in your room, Edward. I'll keep watch for the rest of the day.

02: That's pretty sus, jared

18: Exactly.

13: Why not let Angel keep watch? You know she'll be awake the whole night.

20: Angel? In edward's room?

Me: no thanks

18: Anyway, my point is, if Edward dies, then you all know it was me.

======================

"Angel, have you eaten yet?" asked Ava.

"Me? Um, no, but I'm not hungry either-"

"Good lord... Really? You sure?"

"No, not at all. I can always grab a snack later, after all."

Ava sighed. "If you insist. What are you gonna do today?"

At first I wasn't sure what to reply when she said that. I didn't have any plans, anyway, apart from "make sure that whoever's wearing red doesn't kill anybody". Then it hit me again.

"Is it alright if I let you in on a little secret?" I asked.

"What is it?"

"Look, it's from the night Brett died..." I said, tearing up a bit. "I eavesdropped on Pip and Amy for a bit, and..."

"What'd you hear?"

"One of them's plotting murder, that's the jist of it. At least, that's how I understood it."

"What the hell?!" gasped Ava. "Which twin?"

"If I knew I would've said so."

Ava grumbled. I knew it wasn't like her to act irritated all of a sudden, then again, it was one of our close friends we were talking about. "It's definitely Amy. She has the information on her, and I'm sure there's plenty she's been keeping from us ever since Juliet's email was sent, too!"

"You think?" I replied. "It could be Pip, too... You can never predict that woman."

"Seriously, though... Okay, tell me more," Ava demanded.

I cleared my throat. "So, one of them's plotting murder, and i'm guessing that person's instructions said, 'Kill someone without being caught, but you can let your sister in as an accomplice.' Again, I didn't know who was who."

"So they're both in on it," concluded Ava.

"I guess? Well, she actually said 'I'm only allowed to let you know', or something like that. None of the twins are dead yet, though, so I'm guessing what she meant by that is that the other twin would be an accomplice."

"I see," said Ava. "You should've said something about it earlier, though. At this point, they could be far into their plan already, or something!"

She was once again furious. Not yet mad enough to wreck the room, but there was no doubt about the disappointment in her voice when I finally admitted it.

"I'm gonna go confront Amy about this," said Ava. "You better go get a snack, or something."

"Dude! Save it for the dinner table, that way I-"

She didn't hear me, though. Just like that, she stormed out the door, out into the hallway.

Dear lord...

Amy, like Ava said, had the most knowledge and insight. And Pip, she's really clever. If these two were plotting something, it'd be a disaster for everyone, and Ava was recklessly diving into the situation.

I had to do something, quick.
