Once we finished breakfast, I went to the lounge to rest again. Both Hawthornes, Ava, Kiara, and Elise happened to be there.
"Hi again, Angel," Amy greeted. "You really don't have any more info about things that happened at night, apart from what we already know?"
"No," I answered. "Really. I don't."
"Huh," she replied. "Okay then."
"Guys, in the chat," said Elise. "#1 spoke again. They said something about... Oh, they think it's a guy that did it."
"Can I clarify one thing about #1, though?" said Kiara. "I mean, #11 claimed to be David, but past that..."
"...There's no one else, is there?" said Amy. "Unless..."
"No... I hate to say it, but..." hesitated Kiara. "I doubt if Juliet's still alive. If she was, then at the very least she would've said something by now — as herself."
"But, I hate to say it, but she is the one who started everything, right?" spoke Amy. "In that case..."
"...she wouldn't show up, right?" I interrupted. "But, look, I was one of her best friends, so I damn well know her! And she hasn't made it clear what all this shit's all supposed to be about, but with our fucking lives on the line, she would—"
"It just means we can't trust her," Amy cut in. "Look, you're basically saying that just because she was kind or friend or something, you can trust her. But look, she betrayed us and plenty evidence supports that. For instance, if Juliet's not alive, then who is #1? Deal with it, we can't trust her." What she said... It got me furious. I could tell by the way Ava was shaking that she probably wanted to say something too.
Of course we'd trust Juliet.
"Back to #1," said Amy. "She said that the killer's probably a man?"
"Yeah," replied Elise, looking at her phone again.
"Well then..." paused Amy. She didn't say anything after that.
Pip fixed her scarf, pulling it by both ends. "It's my sister, obviously!" she claimed, bearing the smuggest smile I'd ever seen.
"Mate, you're serious?!" screamed Ava.
"Of course she's not serious," I replied.
"I'd have been careful not to let Pip know," remarked Amy. "Anyway—"
"#1 started posting more..." said Elise. "Maybe... we should all take a look at the chat ourselves."
======================
01: I think the killer is likely a man if the act was done quickly.
08: You really think so?
15: it's not me
14: Yeah, obviously
01: Jens, are you online?
14: He ain't
11: Ed and Jens were roommates, weren't they
20: yep
01: This is just a theory and there's not much evidence to prove it at all, it's just a possibility
01: but Jens could be the killer.
08: oh you're right
02: hi guys
19: mighty fine accusation you have there david
11: huh?
01: again i'm not David
