For the past minutes I have been laying wide awake on the couch. I could really go for a smoke right now, but I doubt Giovani will let me. I don't even know where my coat is. It's been a while since I had my daily dose of nicotine. My eyes wander around the room to see if there is a pack of cigarettes in sight. My sight falls on the dinner table. There it is, I knew someone had to smoke in this house. They just look like it. The trip to the table is going to be a bit harder now, seeing as my crutches are nowhere near me.I stand up from the couch and hop to the table on one leg. After a bit of a struggle, I'm finally here. My crutches are laid next to it. Thank god. Hopping around on one leg is a bit tiring when everything is like twenty metres apart from each other. I grab the cigarettes and crutches and walk to a backdoor in sight. Locked. Okay, no need to give up. There's like four other entrances in sight.
Ten minutes later and I have tried every door, every window I could find. All locked. Damnit Giovani. I'm really craving the nicotine right now. And the fresh air outside. I miss it. I've always been an outdoor type, especially when it rains. I love the water dripping from the clouds. The sound that it makes and the smell that it gives.
I guess there is only one option left, asking Giovani. I hope he has calmed down, otherwise it will be one scary conversation. While mentally preparing myself, I walk to the double stairway. I grab the railing with my right hand and my crutches with the other. I jump on the first step. Yeah, I am definitely going to fall. Better hope for his ass that he will let me smoke if I make it. I'm already halfway up when my foot slips. My other hand grabs on the railing too, which makes my crutches fall all the way down. Fuck. Well, at least I'm still standing.
"What the fuck is all that noise?", an aggravated Giovani comes walking down the hallway upstairs. Oops. This is not a good start of conversation. "S-sorry, I wanted to ask you something", I squeak. He rolls his eyes and walks down the stairs to where I'm standing. "What do you want to ask?" "Can you let me go outsi-" "No", he growls. "Wait, you didn't let me finish", I'm getting really annoyed here. Also a bit scared, but I'm willing to push that aside for my goal. I've walked like thirteen steps on the stair already.
"I really need a smoke, s-so is there somewhere I can, please?", the desperation in my voice is unmissable. "Why would I? You've done nothing but disobey me and now you want a reward for that?", he smirks. "Please Giovani, I'll do anything if you let me", I plead. His eyebrows shoot up, "well, okay then". He lifts me up and walks downstairs to the backdoor. He puts me down and unlocks the door. "If you try to run you have a problem", he warns me.
He sets me down on a lounge chair, lights a cigarette and gives it to me. He looks hot when he lights it. "Thank you." I inhale the smoke and blow it out again. I needed this. He lights another one for himself and stares at me. "What?" "Nothing, I just like watching you", he shrugs. "It's creepy." He shrugs again, "I don't care". He's weird.
"Can I ask you something?", I ask hopefully. "Sure." "Who is Jace?", I ask remembering the guys say something about him and his sister. Giovani stiffens and frowns, "none of your damn business. Where did you get that name?". Yeah right, if you're not going to tell me then I'm not going to tell you. Feeling brave I copy him, "none of your damn business".
He chuckles, "you sure you want to talk to me like this?". The sinister smile is on his face again. Shit. None of the guys are here to save me now. "I-It's just that you won't tell me everything. Y-you are obviously keeping something from me", here it goes with the stutter again. The moment of bravery was good while it lasted. "And you think that I, your kidnapper, should share my thoughts with you because?" Okay, he has a valid point there.
It's unfair. First the thing with when we met and now with this guy's name. I pout. He chuckles and ruffles my hair, "you will know if there is something that concerns you, tesoro". "Okay", I huff. We sit in silence after that.
