This has to be someone who knows me and has access to the house. The fact that I am too antisocial really bothers me now. If I had not been such a wimp, I would have met many more people in this house. Maybe I would have had a better idea of who would be helping this person. I shrug my shoulders to myself. It is better to just go to Yegor and Jace this time. I certainly do not want a repeat of last time. But first, a shower. I feel really gross. I wheel myself towards the bathroom door, as there is a knock heard. Should I open it? Maybe I should be more careful with opening the door. Could be someone trying to murder me for all I know. "Miss? I am sent here to check up on you and refresh the bandages. I'm the doctor", muffles a male voice behind the door. Well, I guess a murderer would not knock before shooting someone. I am way to tired to wheel all the way back there though. "Come in", I yell. The doorknob turns and an old man sticks his head around the corner. His hair is grey and a bit ruffled. The man, dressed in a white coat, steps fully inside and starts to talk. "Hi, I am Sebastian. The family's doctor. If you just go to the bed, then I will examine your wounds", he clarifies. I nod my head in understanding, "hi, I'm Sarah. Are you here to check on my ankle too?". "Yes, I will check everything that is hurt. Just tell me if I miss something. I'm going to lift you on the bed now, hold still." His arms are lifting me up and laying me down on my bed. I lift my shirt up, until it is just above the bullet wound. Sebastian takes of the bandage, "I can see that it healed pretty good. The stiches have to be in it for a little while longer, but I think I can get them out by next week". Relieve fills my body. Next week is pretty soon, I can manage till then. Sebastian grabs a cotton wipe and some bottle, "this might sting my dear", he dabs the wipe on my stomach. I grit my teeth together and groan, "damnit". The doctor chuckles a bit, "sorry, dear. At least it hurts less than getting shot". He sure is right about that. "Have you ever been shot?", I ask filled with curiosity. He grimaces, "unfortunately, yes. It is not a feeling I would wish to experience more times than necessary. But I guess you learned that already". "You could say that, yes. It surely hurts more than I thought it would." In the meantime, he has rolled the pipes of my sweatpants up so he can access the wounds there. "Your leg looks fine too", Sebastian says as he proceeds the same procedure as he did with my stomach. My teeth grit against each other when he wipes another drenched cotton over my leg. Sebastian wraps it up, "okay, it looks fine. I only need to have a look at your plastered ankle, but we need an x-ray for that. We have one in the hospital section of the house, but I will need permission from your brother first". My eyebrows frown, "why?". "Well, eh. Because he is the boss of it all, and I would not want him to have a grudge against me", the doctor stammers. Like he will be mad for you helping his sister. The urge to roll my eyes is becoming very strong. Can someone please acknowledge the fact that I am an adult with my own responsibility? Jeez. Despite the irritation, I manage to force a friendly smile on my face and nod my head in understanding. "I get it. If you have one moment, I will call my brother now to let him know", my eyes find the ones of Sebastian. He nods and makes a gesture with his hands, "sure, go ahead". My lock screen lights up, and I type in my code.
Shit. I totally forgot about this. The text from the creepy, unknown guy is the first thing visible when I unlock my phone. I puff out some air from between my lips and close the message. Better to look at it later. My finger goes to Jace's contact and presses the call button.

"Yes?", his rough voice sounds through the speaker.
"Hi, the doctor needs to make an x-ray from my ankle. Is it okay for him to take me in the hospital section of the house?"
"Yes, of course. Let me know when you are back at your room, okay?"
"I will", and with that I hang up the phone.
I look at Sebastian, and he nods his head with a look of approval. "Great, let's go then", he says.

---

It is a good forty minutes later, when Sebastian rolls me out of the room. "It all looks good. The fraction in your bone is nearly gone. Your stitches have to be in there for another week, and your ankle can be done in two days. If something changes, like more pain or something, do not hesitate to call. Jace has my number", he enlightens me. "Yes, thank you", I say. "No problem, I will see you in a few days then." With that, he leaves me to myself.
