You: Pass me that file.
Mari hands me the Manila envelope labeled 'Jags.' I open it and read the directions aloud.
You: The future leader of the Jags is attending the upcoming leadership class in Portland, Oregon, the task at hand is to find out as much about him as you can and take him out from the inside.
Mari: That's gonna be hard Layla, the next leader of the Jags is Mattia Polibio.
I roll my eyes at that name, that boys not going to be a good leader, he's not qualified enough.
Mari: Are you sure you want to go alone?
You: No, it says second-hand people are to attend as well.
She smirks and reads over my shoulder.

You: Get Alex, Grace and Reese.
She leaves the room to go find those girls, giving me about 5 minutes to think everything through. I look at the picture of my family on my desk, I kiss my index and middle fingers and place them in the frame.
You: I hope I'm making you proud.

Suddenly, the door bursts open to reveal my henchmen. Grace has her bandana around her face, prepared to go on her mission. My sister, Alex, right behind her tying her hair back so it's not in the way. And Reese, smoking a cigarette.
You: Ladies, please have a seat.
Grace and Reese sit down while Alex remains standing to finish Graces hair.
You: Mari and I have to go to a leadership class for a mission.
Grace: You still have to go to those?
You: Yes. But this ones for an actual mission, we have to take out the next leader of the Jags.
Reese snickered as the words left my mouth.
Reese: If you're talking about Mattia—
Grace: Hang on, Mattia? As in the kid that nearly killed you after claiming you were "the love of his life?"
I nodded.
Reese: I hate that asshole.
Alex: Sis, are you sure that's a good idea?
I nodded again.
You: As the leader, it's my responsibility to do what is best for us. Taking out Mattia would be my greatest accomplishment.
They all began to nod and smirk to themselves. Reese put her cigarette out on the ash tray and rests her cheek on her knee.
Reese: How long is the class?
You: 2 days.
Mari: We have to get as much information on them as we possibly can.
Alex: That'll be hard for you Mari but not for Lay, she's got that Polibio wrapped around her finger.
She smiled at me as I slightly nod.
You: Alright, Alex, you're in charge while we're gone. Good luck on your mission today Grace, I know you won't let us down. Reese, you're second in command.
They all nod.
Alex: Yes ma'am.
Grace: Be careful, I'll kill a Jag if they touch you.
Reese: I'll let you know if anything goes down, please be safe.
I hugged each of them and sent them out of my office, Mari sat in front of me.

Mari: I can tell you're nervous.
You: I haven't faced Mattia since the incident, do you think he'll even recognize me?
Mari: Of course he will, he still loves you babes.
I sigh and roll my eyes again.

You: Let's go to the house and get packed, it's a long flight to Portland.
She grabbed the file as I open the door and we walked to the car.
Kris: Where too Ms. Montoya?
You: The house please.
He opens the back doors and we sit, I stare out the window as we drive. Rain starts to lightly fall onto the car and I force myself to focus on it for a minute, then something else catches my attention.
You: Mari.
She turns to me.
Mari: Yes?
I point out the window as the car come to a stop, she looks and her jaw drops.
Mari: That's him...
You: I know...
He's sitting with a girl in the back of the car next to us, arm around her and holding her close.

I will not let this bother me, I have more important things to worry about.

I stopped looking as Mari exclaimed.
Mari: Kairi is pointing at you.
I panic and pull out my phone as I lay my head against the window as a sign that I remain unbothered. Mari kept me informed with what's happening.
Mari: Now Mattia's looking at you. Now he's not, the girl forced his face to hers. Ew. EWWWW. God, why is this such a slow light?
I was laughing until I feel the car begin to move again, I sit up and sighed in relief.
You: That was close.
Mari: Now he knows we're on the move, not a good sign, they could attack—
You: Mari chill, he's not gonna do anything. Remember, he's most likely bringing Kairi with him and leaving the meat head in charge, we have nothing to worry about.

She nods as we pull up to the gate, I get out of the car and go to enter the code. The gate slowly opens and Kris drives through, stopping at the entrance.
You: We'll be right back Kris.
I hand him a $50 bill and Mari and I get out of the car to walk into the house. Mari and I moved in together right after my parents passed, she's been there through all the blood, sweat, and tears of that painful experience. Her room is right next to mine, she chose it because she wanted to make sure I was always okay.

She walks into her room and I walk into mine and we start to pack all the necessary equipment, weapons, clothes, stealth items, etc. We're taking the private jet, like we usually do, which meant we could pretty much bring whatever we wanted onto it. I walk out of my room, bag in hand, and into the living room. I didn't have to wait very long, only about 5 or so minutes, for Mari to come down the stairs.
Mari: Ready?
I nod and we walk back out the the car, place our bags in the trunk and get in the car.
Kris: To the airport Miss?
You: Yes please.
He turns around and starts driving to the airport, I started to get a little nervous.
Mari: It's gonna be ok love, I promise. Nothing will happen to you.
