I feel myself starting to lose interest in the lesson and begin to daydream about simpler times. Not very deep in thought, I'm interrupted by Liam.
Liam: 20 minute break and then we'll come together again for lesson two, stick with your partner.
I stand up and follow the line of teens out the building, walking next to Mattia the entire time. I don't want to talk to him again, I don't need to because that'll just make me angry.

Mattia: So, you wanna get food?
You: No thanks.
Mattia: What do you wanna do?
You: Call Mari.
Mattia: Have fun with that.
He scoffs as he walks into the bathroom, I roll my eyes and go outside the building and call Mari.
Mari: Hey, hows it going?
You: I have a 20 minute break but I have to fill you in. I'm fucking partners with him.
Mari: You're joking.
You: I'm not, that asshole knew what he was doing the whole time, but I haven't given in to temptation so that's good.
Mari: You are a rock !
You: I am!
Mari: Did he see the message?
You: Yeah, I made sure that's what I was looking at every time he'd talk to me. I know he hates being ignored for a phone.
She laughs through the phone.
Mari: Ok well you should get back, I'll see you when it's over.
You: Ok bye.
I hang up and take a deep breath as I walk back into the building, I hate having to sit next to Mattia. But I'll suck it up for the good or the organization. I sit down and glance over at Mattia, he looks like he's been crying.

You: Are you ok?
He shook his head.
You: Wanna talk about it?
He nods and we walk back out of the room and into a hallway, he looks down at his feet.
You: What's wrong?
Mattia: It's Ally, I texted her about the conversation you showed me and she said that she never loved me and that she was only with me because I'm about to be the leader.
You: I'm so sorry Mattia.
I'm starting to feel bad again.
Mattia: It's fine, I'll get over it.
You: Maybe try being single for a while?
He nods and leads us back to our seats just in time for the next lesson.

We finally finish and are released, well, except me. Liam asked me to talk with him after the lesson concluded.
Liam: So I'm taking it that you're a leader, an actual leader not a leader in training.
You: Yes sir, my parents promised me the 'throne' once they passed, it just came to me sooner than I expected.
Liam: So if you're a leader, what are you doing in a crash course?
You: I'm learning the basics of what it takes to be the best leader I can be, I want what's best for my people.
He smiles.
Liam: You're already a great leader, Layla. You just can't let anything distract you, like Mattia.
I catch his drift and nod my head.
You: I understand sir, I won't let him distract me from what's important.
He shakes my hand and allows me to leave.

I walk out of the building and see Mari in a black car, she signals for me to come fast.
You: Whats wrong?
Mari: Mattia's waiting for you and I'm not letting that shit happen.
You: How do you know?
Mari: Kairi is so fucking gullible.
I giggle.
You: I'll fill you in back at the hotel.

She drove fast, it felt like we were being chased. We sorta were, but not purposely, they were just going back to the hotel. Right? She pulls into a parking spot and rushes me into the building, I look back and see Kairi doing the same thing with Mattia.
Mari: They're not getting in the elevator with us.
She pushes the button about a million times hoping the door would close, but a small hand forced the doors to remain open for a minute.
Mari: Son of a bitch!
Kairi: What's the rush Lewis?
You: We could ask you the same question.
Mari: Not your business short one.
Kairi: I'm almost as tall as you.
Mari: Almost.
Mattia: Dont sass my henchman, Lewis.
You: Don't talk to my right hand like that, Polibio.
Mattia: Whatcha gonna do about it?
He smirks with that smug, asshole look and my anger beings to boil. I stay quiet because I know what'll happen if I don't.
Mattia: Gone quiet I see.
You: I don't feel like being an asshole right now.
Mari: But you clearly do. What fucking floor?
Kairi: 20.

She pushes the button roughly before pulling out her phone, she and I stand on one side of the room while they're on the other.

I can't wait for this missions to be finished.

They walk out of the elevator and glance back at us just before the door closes.
Mari: I hate them so much.
You: You and me both.
Mari: Mattia's lucky I didn't beat the shit out of him for talking to you like that.
You: Don't worry about him, he'll get what's coming to him tomorrow.
Mari: Ok so what happened today?
You: He and I flirted, I only did it so I could get his ass vulnerable. He broke up with his girlfriend and found out she never loved him, I felt kinda bad but not super bad. I'm pretty sure I'm in his head now.

Mattia

You: Why the fuck can't I get her out of my head?
Kai: She's got a way of doing that, she'd make a great Jag if I'm being totally honest.
I glare at him and watch as he curls into a tiny ball.
Kai: And you're sure you flirted with her?
You: I tried my hardest, but she's not budging. She has like this barrier that formed singer her parents died.
Kai: Hold up, her parents died?
I nod.
Kai: She's the fucking leader of the Mambas?
I nod again a little confused.
Kai: Dude, that's the mission. She's the target, the one you—
You: Have to kill...
I sat on the bed as everything that we just realized rang through my head.

I can't kill Layla, I still love her. I know what'll happen if I don't, what if there's a way around it? Maybe she and I could—

Kai: Hello? Did you hear me?
I shook my head and looked at him.
Kai: I said you know what'll happen if you don't, your dad will consider you a traitor.
You: I know, but I can't kill her...
Kai: What if I did it?
I look up at him angrily.
You: Don't you dare.
Kai: It's the mission. You have to do something about it.
You: But I don't want to kill her.
Kai: Then lets hold her hostage, Alex would enjoy that.
You: Why?
Kai: Cuz then he could do whatever he wants to her, he's wanted to do that his whole life.
You: Daniel too... but her organization is physically stronger than ours, regardless is they're girls or not.
Kai: We're a lot smarter than they are, we can be one step ahead of them the entire time.

Kairi is one smart, little motherfucker. I do think this is a better plan than actually killing her.
