I pull Mari's face in front of mine and whisper as quietly as I possibly can.
You: Start whispering random shit in my ear, one of thems bound to crack.
She nods and pushes the button for the twenty-fifth floor. I begin the plan I just came up with.
You: Hector sent me the picture.
Mari: I know bitch, I have eyes.
I giggle, causing Kairi to look in my direction.
Mari: It's working.
You: Flawlessly. Now we'll get them to tap into "my phone," which will reverse that shit and get us all the information we need.
Mari: Damn, trap phone, smart move. How do you come up with these plans so fast?
You: I'm just that good.
Mari: This is talent.
I smile and glance over at Mattia telling Kairi something.

Mattia

You: Can you hear what she's saying?
He shakes his little head as I sigh.
You: You need to find out what she's talking about.
Kai: Why me?
You: Because I can tell she doesn't want to talk to me.
Kai: I can get Los to tap into her phone, if you want.
I nod and smirk as the thought of the shit we'd find in her phone but my thought was cut short as the elevator stopped at our floor.

Kai and I look at each other and exit the elevator in silence, and as bad as I want to look back at her, I know I shouldn't. We walk into our room and throw everything around while falling flat onto the bed.
Kai: You miss her, don't you?
I sigh and sit up.
You: I shouldn't, but I do. She looks even better than before.
Kai: She has gotten a lot prettier.
You: As if she was ugly before.
Kai lightly rolls his eyes.
Kai: No I'm not saying that, what I meant was she's even prettier than she was before?
His voice was fearful, as if I would do something to him for saying that she's pretty.

He slumps on the bed across from mine and sighs.
You: I think she hates me.
Kai: Can you blame her? I mean, no offense, but you almost got her killed.
You: I know that, but it wasn't what she thinks it was.
Kai: I know that dude, but she doesn't. You could try talking to her—
You: She won't listen, because I'm—
Kai: "A disgusting Jag," yeah yeah I know. She might look past that because it's you, she loved you.
You: Loved, Kai, past tense.
Kai: Maybe she still does?
He shrugs his shoulder as I fall back on the bed and bury my face in my hands.

We walked into the suite and threw all out shit in a corner. I look over at Mari as she falls face first onto the bed.
You: Aw my baby's tired.
She giggles and turns on her side to face me.
Mari: It's been a long day, but tomorrow's gonna be even longer. I was reading over the file on the plane, it says you have to attend the class alone.
I'm now sitting with my feet dangling off the edge of the bed, I sigh.
You: Fuck.
Mari: You'll be ok, you just can't let temptation get to you. As bad as you feel you want to do something, you need to control yourself and make yourself rock solid. He will not break you, got it?

I nod and let myself fall back on the bed, burying my face in a pillow.
You: This missions gonna be a lot harder than I thought.
Mari: You've got this, you're the leader of the Mambas. We all know what you're capable of, an example is the airport stunt with that short bastard Kairi. And I know that once you're there and you see his smug face, your anger won't let you feel the way you once did about him.
You: You're right, thanks for the pep talk.
She smiles and pulls a joint out from behind her ear, literally like a magician.
You: Did you have that shit there the whole time?
She giggles.
Mari: Perks of having an Afro. Wanna hit?

I nod and we walk out to the balcony, she sits on the ledge of the small barrier and lights the joint. She takes a couple small puffs before handing it to me, I take a deep breath and place it up to my lips, inhaling small and light breaths. She smirks at me.
Mari: This will take your mind off of that asshole.
I giggle as she positions herself to where she standing next to me, I take another hit before handing it back to her. I spoke as I exhaled the smoke.
You: I hate him, you know that?
She nods and blows a huge cloud.
Mari: You do, but you don't at the same time. It's understandable, he was your first love. You can feel however you wanna feel about him now, ya know why?
You: Why?
Mari: Because you're not under anyone's control, and if you love him still, then you love him still.
I smile a little to my high self.

She's right. I'm not sure how I feel about Mattia, all I know is that right now, I hate him.

She and I walked back into the room and tried to turn the tv on.
You: I can't find the button.
She and I were laughing harder than we'd ever laughed before, then she had an idea.
Mari: Lets go out.
You: To like, a club?
Mari: No, just to get some food. I can have an Uber here in 5.
I nod rapidly run to grab my slides from my bag, she smiles as I slip them on.
You: Whatcha smilin at?
Mari: How wild you are when you're high.
I laugh.
You: I never do this.
She giggles as I stand up.
Mari: Let's go.
We walk out of the room and to the elevator, we wait about a minute or so for it to come. She steps in and helps me by holding me up.

I'm not necessarily the party type if you couldn't tell. But only because I'm normally way too busy to even think about doing a drug.

The doors open causing my thought to disappear and we walk out and to the Uber. We aren't in a hurry but are getting tired so we decide to go through a drive through Popeyes, and then back to the room. She and I walk into the lobby and bump into someone.
You: Oh shit, my bad.
I look up into the face of Mattia, I freeze in fear.
Mattia: Are you ok?
You: I'm fine.
I quickly walk past him back to Mari and we get in the elevator fast, I'm way too high for this shit.

We walk into the room quickly and I plop down on the bed.
You: Did that really just happen or am I trippin balls?
Mari: That really just happened, are you ok for real?
You: I'm fine, just a little freaked out. I need to eat, I'm fucking starving.
I shove the food in my face without hesitation, Mari stares at me and laughs as she does the same thing.
You: Fuckkkkkk I need to go to bed.
Mari: Same, night.
You: Night love.
