Zuri's POV

I stared at the yellow diamond engagement ring with a rose gold band on my finger. It's the most beautiful ring I've ever seen, the only ring I've had in my life and I'm very very happy the person who gave it to me is my first love and the only love of my life.

Gosh, I can't believe it. I can't freaking believe I'm not just the girlfriend but also the fiancée of Luigi Gianni. Who would have ever thought, Lui and I will end up like this on our first encounter. I would have laughed in the face of whoever prophesied then, and even during the gala yet here I am, engaged to him after everything.

"Mrs Zuri Gianni." Lui said, entwining our fingers, the yellow diamond glistening as sun rays fell on it.

"I wish I was right now."

"You are, that ring on your finger proves it."

"What do you mean?"

"The rite we did yesterday wasn't your ordinary engagement ceremony, it was an orthodox betrothal rite which we have completed and so we are legally considered as husband and wife."

What? "You mean to say we are husband and wife? Like we can do everything marital?" Live together, start a family?

"Mnh someone cant wait to make love to me huh?" He asks me, wiggling his brows at me and staring at me amused by his own craziness.

I chuckled, smacking his hand that were now finding it way on my thigh, "shut up Lui, I'm not thinking any of that. I only want to make sure."

"You only want to make sure, we're going to make love in the right way according to Christianity I'm I right?"

You're hundred percent right. "Yeah, just so we are not going to sin and fornicate before God. And who's talking about making love here?"

"Your words and how your eyes are mist."

"What?" I turned to look at the window, he can't be serious.

And he wasn't, he broke into laughter, pulling me to him. "I'm joking you. You're so cute babe."

We arrived home, after beating traffic on our way from the airport. Mother opened the door for us with a huge smile on her face and immediately her eyes darted to my finger and then Lui's. "Congratulations on your my dears."

"We aren't married mama, we're only engaged."

"Lui, didn't you tell her what you two did?"

"I did mother, she isn't grasping it cause she's so happy." Lui and mama chuckled at me and started whispering stuffs to each other.

Wait, what I'm I seeing and hearing? Lui calling mama, mother and Lui behaving like best buddies? "Are you two accomplices in the whole betrothal scheme?"

"Of course honey, I gave him the idea after he called telling me he wants to ask you to be his girlfriend."

"And I did just that. Mother bless us so we always be this happy and in love and also get the mutual understanding to get married sooner than we would all expect."

"With pleasure son, I wish you both the very best, and lots of love. May the years ahead be filled with lasting joy. To a couple whose match truly seems made in heaven! May your life together be as joyful and happy as your love and may you both continue to shine in each other's life till your marriage and forever."
