(That's Toby.)

After checking in at the hotel, I made my way up to my room. Walking over to the window on the far wall, I looked out to see Surfers Paradise. Jet lag catching up with me, I decided to spend the morning resting.
I quickly texted my parents that I was safe before climbing onto the bed, drifting off to the crashing waves.

At around noon, I woke up, immediately thinking of what to do first. My mind wandered to all of the fun things to do in Australia, but I was brought back to reality when my stomach grumbled. Food. I put my shoes back on and grabbed my bag. After waiting patiently for the elevator to arrive, my wish came true and I travelled to the ground floor.
Outside, I took a deep breath. I was finally here, on the Gold Coast of Australia. Thinking about being here is a little bit weird. Like i actually flew across the world.~ I made my way to the cross walk and began walking in the general direction of restaurants, not paying too much attention to where I was. After a few minutes, I looked around, discovering that there was a Nando's just a couple doors down. Having never actually eat at one before, I decided it sounded good. When I arrived at the restaurant, I thought I would order some take out and bring it to the beach.

"Hi how are you?" A young girl who looked about 16 asked me.

"I'm good, how about you?"

"Fine, thank you. So how can i help you?" Not sure if she could do a take out order, I asked, "Umm....can I order something to go please?"

She didn't look fazed by the question, so I assumed it was possible. "Yeah, but if you don't mind my asking, are you new here? You seem American. Could I suggest something?"

I bit my lip and nodded my head. She giggled,"Its ok.. umm....how about the Peri Peri Chicken? It's a local favorite around here." Surprisingly, I actually knew what that was because of my secret One Direction obsession.

"Yeah I'll try it, thanks." She nodded and walked off to give my order to the kitchen. In the meantime, I sat down on one of the comfortable chairs in their lobby and waited.

Thinking of what I needed to do tomorrow, I realized that i don't really know how the whole moving to a different country thing worked with the banks. Did have to like transfer my money from the states to here? I have know clue how this works. Lost in my own mind, I started thinking about Beau from the Starbucks. He seemed really sweet and he did leave his number on my cup. Should I actually call him? I did need a friend and he was definitely my top candidate. I wasn't sure about it, though.

I wasn't really looking for anything more though, except- "Here you go." I look up at the voice that had interrupted my thoughts to find the hostess.

"Oh thanks." I gave her my debit card and she went away to swipe it. When she came back, I signed the receipt, grabbed my card, and waved goodbye.

I made my way to the beach, instantly shocked by what I saw. There were surfers everywhere. Never have I, to this day, seen so many surfers in the water at one time. Not even in California do you ever see such big crowds of them at one beach. I found a spot close to the water, but still secluded from the swarms of people. I pulled out my notebook and turned on some music in my headphones. Moments like that are the reason I wanted to move across the globe. Sitting in the warm sand, listening to my favorite music, and sketching in my notebook while the waves crashed on the shore. Enjoying the feeling of sheer happiness, I decided to spend the rest of my afternoon on the soft Australian sand.

I woke up in a puddle of wet sand where I had been drooling and checked the time. I placed my things in my bag before standing up and shaking the sand off of my body. I grabbed the bag from the ground and started to walk back to my hotel. After I finished, I cuddled up in the cotton sheets on the bed and drifted back to sleep.
