59: Becoming Family

Because Kurama's mother remarried, their house has now become to staying with Shiori-san's husband and his son.

Arina takes off her apron and hangs it . She goes to find shiori-san in the living room. Everyone was sitting there watching television.

Arina : uhno. I'm leaving.

Shiori ; eh ? Aren't you staying to eat with us ?

Arina shakes her head " I've an old lady to feed at home. She's very picky."

" You always comes by our house to do the house chores. Since from before shiori married me till even now, after she moved with me. Arigatou." Shiori's husband, Hatanaka said.

" Um! I like the cream stew she makes." Shuichi, kurama's stepbrother , of the same human name said.

Shiori ; I like the seafood soup.

Arina: arigatou.

Hatanaka: you're a very weird and rare girl.

Arina : eh ?

Hatanaka: girls don't usually go all out this way just to chase a guy they like. But I guess it all paid off huh ? Shuichi is now in love with you.

Arina : ... Eh ? No... I didn't do it to chase Shuichi. Is that how it works ?

Hatanaka laughs " you're very innocent aren't you ? "

Shiori : don't tease her !

Hatanaka: gomen gomen.

Arina ; I did it because I'm in love with Shuichi. Not the other way round.

Hatanaka ; still, you're the first girl I know to give all out just for a guy. What if he doesn't give back ?

Shiori hits Hatanaka " don't say that !!! Though... I do feel bad sometimes thinking about it ."

Arina : it's ok. Even if one day he doesn't love me anymore. I'll keep my promise.

Shiori : promise ?

Arina: um. To protect his treasures.

Shiori : neh Arina.

Arina : hai ?

Shiori ; if... If my Shuichi does bad to you one day. Or if he doesn't want you, do you want to be my daughter ? God daughter ?

Hatanaka: you really like her huh. Well, I do too. I don't mind having an extra daughter. We don't have girls anyway.

Shuichi : then I'll have a nee-chan!!

Arina : eh ? I... Is that ok ?

That's when kurama returned home " hey. What are you guys talking about?"

Shuichi ; that if you bully Arina, we'll take her in as my new nee-chan instead!!

Kurama laughed " is that so ? " He hugged her in from behind " too bad then. She's mine already. But you don't have to feel sad, cos she's family already. "

Shuichi: what are you talking about? Nii-san?! It doesn't make sense.

Kurama: she said yes to marrying me.

Shiori ; really ? Really ?! Arina.

Arina nods blushing a little " hai..."

Hatanaka: that's great news !!

Shiori : why didn't you tell us sooner ?

Kurama : well I was finding the right time. We even set a date already.

Shiori : look at you, all excited to marry her.

She flushed red " I... I need to go back home and feed genkai ! " She pulls open Kurama's hand and leaves through the door.

Hatanaka: kawaii. You're really lucky nah. Shuichi nii.

Arina ; neh... Genkai. I've a favour to ask of you.

Genkai : what is it ?

Arina : .... Kurama's parents... They say they want to meet my parents. But you know ... I'm a yokai.

Genkai : just tell them you don't have one.

Arina : could I ask you to be one ? Kamine said it's important for weddings. To have parents meet up.

Genkai: I look like a grandma than a parent.

Arina : could you just go for me ? Kamine said this would mean that, you represent my family to have me married off to their household.

Genkai : are you sure ? I'm just an old lady who lets you stay here for free.

Arina : um... Please.

Genkai strokes arina's hair and smiled " don't think so much about it. I'll go for you. "
