ALDRIEN

“You have to be kidding me! First you tell me I’m some child of some goddamn prophecy and now you tell me I’m the heir to the throne of the monster world and I have to fight  some black smoke called Darkness? Is this someones idea of a sick joke?” I screamed at no one in particular.

I patiently listened when the so called elders were talking. Now it’s their turn to listen.

“Who do you think you’re calling monsters? Do you actually think you’re any different than any of us? Might I remind you that you’re in my land now!” Glowered that weird fanged lady. Though I must say she kinda looked cute(without the fangs of course).

I was about to give her a proper retort but my father jerked me down on the seat.

“Sit down boy. We already have a pissed off werewolf in the room. The last thing we want is you blowing everyone in this room to pieces!” hissed my father in my ears.

“We’ll see who rips who to pieces”muttered Sapphira under her breath. (Hey, if we’re gonna work together we might as well be on a first name basis)

“That’s enough both of you.”this time it was my grandfather who spoke. “What is to be done next?”he asked pointedly to the elders.

“We have no other choice but to send them in. We have the rest of our guard in there to help them. Since the portal is now open I suggest  that they enter tomorrow at dawn. But we will have to take Aldrien back into the village tonight to prepare him.”said Lord Ramon.

“Yes, it is best that he leave as soon as possible.”my grandfather agreed.

“So what, you are just gonna ditch me and send me to my doom?”I questioned my family.

“We have no other choice Aldy. I know you’ll be fine. This is what you were born to do. Now go make us proud.”my mother said stroking my cheek.

“Not to worry. I’m sure Sapphira will help him if he needs anything. It is not in our hands to assure you of your son’s safety but we are sure that all will be well.”said Lord Ramon soothingly.

Looks like I had no other choice but to ram ahead into my crappy future.

“Now I’m stuck up with you. Do me a favor and try not to make my life even more miserable than it already is.”Sapphira muttered as she pushed past me to exit the tent.

“As long as you do the same.”I murmered to myself as I followed the elders to the border.

“Bye mom. Bye dad, grandpa. Hope to see you guys again. If I don’t get chewed up by anything that is.” I told my family in a sullen voice.

With that I stepped over the border. I waited for something to happen but nothing. It was just like taking another normal step forward.

“What are you waiting for?  A receiving party?” Sapphira smirked as she turned her head away and marched forward.

My God that was one annoying girl!
