~ Michael POV ~

"What's wrong with Lydia?" I ask, "She looked panicked." Jeremy shrugs his shoulders and takes my slushie from me.

"I don't know, but she'll be back soon." he says, drinking from my slushie. "She looked pretty nice." Christine says. "Hmuh..." Jenna murmurs, who's texting.

Lydia has come back. She sits quietly at the table.

"Hey, Lydia," Jeremy begins, "where do you live, by the way?" "That is not really important, Delia would go CRAZY if she discovered that I had friends. Then she would say something like: 'OH MY GODDD, MY CRYSTALS WERE RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!'" she says, rolling her eyes.

"Delia?" I ask. "My stepmother."

"Where's your birth mother then?" Jake asks. Lydia begins to stare sadly at the ground. I quickly try to comfort her. "Sorry..." says Jake quickly.

"Well... maybe it would be a good idea to work together on the presentation this afternoon?" Lydia says to me and Jeremy.  I smile at her. "Great!"

Time skiiiiiiipppppppppppp

We are standing in front of Lydia's house. It is quite large, but it also looks kinda scary. A man with a hat comes out. "Hey, Lydia- who are they?" he says.

"These are Michael and Jeremy. They are in my geography class. We are going to work on a presentation." Lydia says. The man is looking at us. "Hi, I am Lydia's father, Charles Deetz." he says, "Lydia, don't let Delia notice this. You know how she is... "

I look weird at Jeremy.

We walk into the house. It is even bigger than it looks from the outside.

We see a woman with orange hair that's in a bun. She is wearing a long, eye-catching dress and has a chain with a crystal on it. She turns to us.

"Hi, I'm Michael M-" "LYDIA, ARE THEY YOUR FRIENDS?!??!"

Lydia stares at the ground in embarrassment. "Yes but-" "YOU MATCH SO GOOD TOGETHER," the woman tells me, "IS THAT YOUR BOYFRIEND?!"

I'm starting to blush. Jeremy blush even more than me. "No. That's just my best friend." I say quickly.

"Come on, Michael and Jeremy. We go upstairs where Delia is NOT."  Lydia says and walks up the stairs. Jeremy and I follow her.
